Chapter 1
As I sat in front of my computer on a warm summer day, I couldn't help but feel frustrated with my lack of creative inspiration. Writing had always been my passion, but ever since the incident that turned my world upside down, I struggled to find the motivation to write anything worth reading. It was as if my mind had gone blank, leaving me directionless and unmotivated. Feeling overwhelmed, I looked over at the bags packed and ready to go in the hallway of my New York apartment. It was time for a break, a chance to escape the city and the memories that haunted me. As a woman in her thirties, I longed for stability and happiness, but after everything I'd been through, those things seemed like distant dreams.
As the taxi arrived to take me to the airport, I couldn't help but wonder if I'd ever find true love. I'd been unlucky in love in the past, and my distrust of men had only grown stronger since the night that shattered my world. But as the car drove through the streets of Manhattan, something caught my eye. A black SUV had come to a sudden stop in the middle of the road, causing a traffic jam. I watched in curiosity as a group of men rushed towards the vehicle, got inside, and drove off with screeching tires. As the traffic began to move again, I couldn't help but wonder what had just happened.
Intrigued by the mysterious incident, I decided to investigate further. I got out of the car and walked toward where the SUV had been parked. As I approached, I caught a glimpse of a man sitting in the backseat. But what was he doing there? And why did they stop in the middle of the road?
