Chapter 1

About These Pages...

These are some of the pages that I found roughly a year ago whilst I was walking along the riverbank near R... therefore this is not my work.

The pages seemed to me to be part of a larger manuscript simply because I found them inside of a torn diary. The majority of them were either ripped clean from the book or so damaged that I decided not to utilize them in favor of a more fluid and consistent reading. The ones I managed to rescue successfully were fortunately in perfect condition (besides story number IV which lacks the first page). Therefore I found no need to add footnotes or any other kind of explanation.

Due to these circumstances the only thing that was left for me to do was try as much as I could to create a kind of order among the remaining pages that could help the reader to better understand the text. For that reason I divided the text into six stories and added a sentence from one of my favorite authors, which, I think, worked brilliantly.

I am fast to say though that this was my only contribution to the piece. The rest of it is as the author intended and I did nothing more than putting it all together. Hence I am neither responsible for it nor do I share any of the views here stated.

It seems that the original story is called The Bull in The Sky. Despite that, after reading it, I can only connect that title to one of the last pages of the book. It doesn’t seem right to me. Perhaps the unfortunate loss of some of its pages is to blame for the apparent lack of unity in the text. At any case I do not think I have the right to change any man ́s written words that are so deeply connected with his heart. Therefore, the title, for better or worse, remains the same.

I believe that the pages I managed to rescue can give us an idea of who this man was and what his ideals were.

I did what I could to find out who the writer was, however after a year without finding any clues about the author’s identity, I must face the sad reality that either the writer disappeared or he doesn’t want anything to do with his own writing.
