Chapter 1
Rose got up out of bed after turning off her alarm. She grabbed a pair of ripped jeans, a plain blue shirt, her favorite jean jacket, plain white socks and tennis shoes. She got dressed and grabbed her backpack and computer case. She was about to leave but then realized she forgot something. My pride pin! she thought and rushed to grab it. it pricked her finger a little, but she didn't mind. She put it on and headed downstairs for breakfast. When she got down, she put toast in the toaster, poured a glass of orange juice and made some eggs. She packed it in her lunch box on the empty side. the other side had her lunch packed in it. She left a note for her mom that read: "left for school early. have a great workday, love you!"
She hopped on the bus and sat in an empty section. She pulled out her phone and texted her best friend, Leah. After a short chat the bus came to a halt. "Alright. Everyone off the bus." The bus driver said, and everyone hopped off in a single-file line. She bumped into a girl with long curly brown hair, dark blue eyes, shorts, a orange t-shirt a hoodie and a pride pin. "i'm so sor-" Rose was cut off by the girl. "You support LGBTQ+? So, do I. Let me guess..." The girl looked Rose up and down. "Are you a Lesbian?" She asked Rose. She nodded and looked the girl top to bottom. "Lesbian or Bisexual?" The girl smiled at Rose and adjusted the pride pin on her (on Rose). "I'm Lesbian. how'd you guess?" She shrugged. "I'm Rose Munn. Who are you?" she asked. The girl smiled. "I'm Ruby Shallows." she replied. Rose smiled almost blushing.
This girl looked so, Perfect. "Hey you okay?" Ruby's question jerked her back from her thoughts. "What? yea I'm fine." "well, wanna walk to class together?" She nodded, no longer able to speak. They walked together to ELA. To her surprise, the teacher had moved Ruby's seat to her table. "Oh. hi Ruby!" Rose says surprised. "Hello, Rose. How are you today?" Ruby says, smiling. "I'm great thanks. What about you?" She replies. "I'm okay, I guess. Wanna walk with me after school?" She nods. "Sure! I'd love to!"
