Chapter I
“The first day is always the hardest” At least that’s what I kept telling myself. However, it seems day by day that things just keep getting gradually worse.
A FEW DAYS EARLIER
Papa and I moved from Silicon Valley a few months after my mom died, to try and “Start a new life” as Papa put it. I just wanted my mom back and for our life to go back to normal. However, I guess my life never was normal. Papa decided to move us to a small town where everyone knows everyone.
“Papa, do we have to leave?” I looked at him and frowned.
He gazed at me then spoke with a sigh saying “We went over this Rose. We need a change, I know how much it hurts to think about what happened to your mom and leaving but you have to understand I am not leaving here with empty feelings, I love your mom and it breaks my heart to leave but we have to.” He pulled me into a hug; I could tell from his breathing he was holding back a sob.
“Now, let us finish packing so we can get a move on and watch a movie huh?” Papa said.
“I suppose we can’t let Rise of the Tomb Raider wait can we?” I gave a weak smile.
