Chapter 3

In the dimly lit bedroom of the small, cluttered apartment, the late afternoon sun filtered through the partially drawn curtains, casting a warm, hazy glow on the worn gray carpet. Amid the clutter, Jules lay wrapped in a tangle of sheets, teetering between slumber and consciousness. He’d been awake all day, trapped by Nikolai’s embrace. The exhaustion from not sleeping the night before, and staying up all day were beginning to take a toll on his mind.

Curled up beside him, Nikolai held Jules in a tight arm lock, their bodies pressed tight against one another. He’d been fast asleep since earlier that morning, completely passing out after aggressively asserting his dominance over Jules. He shivered at the thought of the earlier events.

Jules tried to subtly shift his body, hoping to free himself from Nikolai’s grip without waking him. The events of the morning weighed heavily on his mind, and he felt a mixture of fear, confusion, and anger coursing through his veins. The atmosphere in the room felt suffocating and he longed to escape, if only for a moment.

Jules slowly and carefully lifted Nikolai’s arm from across his

abdomen, delicately moving it to rest on Nikolai’s hip. The man continued to slumber, breathing deeply and soundlessly. Jules could feel the sweat forming on his skin as he steadily rolled himself towards the edge of his mattress. Just as he was getting to the drop off, a spring in the mattress gave way, causing the weight to shift dramatically and the whole bedframe squeaked aggressively.

Jules’ heart dropped, feeling Nikolai’s body shift behind him and he exhaled deeply.

“Where are you off to, lovely?” he groaned, his hand reaching out for Jules’ sweater, the only thing he was wearing. His underwear had been torn off at some point during his earlier ordeal. His inner thighs felt sticky, but it wasn’t too uncomfortable.

“I… I have to use the bathroom.” Jules mumbled, slipping off the bed just in time to avoid Nikolai’s fingers. He pulled his sweater down over his behind, shuffling towards the bedroom door. Nikolai’s pants along with Jules’, were discarded close to the door, another painful reminder of what had happened.

Jules stepped quietly out of the bedroom, leaving the door slightly ajar to let in a sliver of dim light. The hallway was bathed in a hushed silence, broken only by the faint hum of distant traffic outside. He tiptoed down the hallway, careful to not make very much noise, so he could listen for Nikolai’s movement in the bedroom.

The nurse slipped into the bathroom, locking the door behind him. He faced the mirror above his tiny bathroom sink, staring at himself deeply. His eyes were red with dark bags under them due to his sleep deprivation. Dark yellow and purple bruises littered his jawline, neck and collar bones. There were several bite marks on his skin.

He groaned, sitting down on the toilet, resting his face in his hands as he did his business. Jules’ whole body hurt. It wasn’t a trauma pain. It was more like a mental and exhaustive pain. His eyes ached, stinging every time he opened them. His arms shook as he grabbed the toilet paper.

Jules unlocked the door, keeping his sweater pulled down over his front as he re-entered the bedroom. Nikolai was lying lazily on the bed, looking over at him with mischievous eyes. The covers were draped across his body in a way that made Nikolai look like an angelic renascence oil painting.

“You look tired, Vinan. Didn’t you rest?” he asked, stretching out his back. Jules ignored him, shuffling to his dresser and pulled out a pair of underwear. He his legs into them, pulling the waistband to his belly button. Nikolai laughed, slowly sitting up, leaning on his arm.

“What? What’s wrong now?”

“Don’t ‘what’s wrong now’ me. You know exactly what’s wrong.” Jules hissed, finding a pair of sweat pants and pulling them on as well. Nikolai sat up, swinging his legs, his feet resting on the floor. He stood up and strut towards Jules, the sheet falling off him. Nikolai had the body of a God amongst men, but Jules kept his eyes averted.

“Oh come on, Mouse.” Nikolai walked up to Jules, dragging him closer by the waistband of his sweatpants. Jules resisted, but as usual, it didn’t do much. Nikolai just grinned, rutting his bare hips against Jules.

“I guess I didn’t do a good enough job. I guess I’ll have to tire you out a little more.” He snickered, ringing his arms around Jules’ waist. He pulled the boy away from the dresser towards the wall. Jules wobbled, stumbling as he was forcefully relocated.

“No… I’m done with this… just… get off!”

“You don’t mean that. C’mon, Vinan…” Nikolai cooed, sharply pulling down on Jules’ pants.

“NO!” Jules yelled, quickly ducking under Nikolai’s arms, rolling across the floor before scrambling to his feet quickly. Jules’ heart pounded in his chest as he pulled away from Nikolai, his breath coming in ragged gasps. Fear and anger mixed within him, fueling his determination to escape the clutches of his tormentor. Nikolai groaned, rolling his eyes. He inhaled sharply and Jules watched as he struggled to suppress the outburst swelling within him.

“I’m sore. I don’t want to do this. I just want you to leave me alone…” Jules outstretched a hand in a gesture to keep Nikolai away. He huffed, his eyes filled with a helpless, pleading look. This didn’t phase Nikolai in the slightest, and obviously didn’t deter him.

“Now you’re just playing difficult.” He sneered, waving away Jules’ wishes like whisps of smoke, “We both know you’re just tired. Not thinking straight, lovely.” Nikolai was closed to him once again. He once again pushed Jules against the wall, attempting to pull down his sweats.

“Why won’t you just listen to me?” Jules whined, his feeble attempts at stopping Nikolai only encouraging the man. Nikolai let out a breathy laugh, sneaking a tender kiss next to his ear before speaking.

“Because you don’t know what you want, Mouse. I know what you want… so just relax. I’ll put you to sleep. Trust me.”

The whole time Nikolai spoke, he once again achieved the removal of Jules’ pants and underwear in one go. Jules was so frustrated at this point. Nothing he was saying was reaching Nikolai.

Jules yelped loudly a she was lifted off the ground, his legs at first being wrapped around Nikolai’s hips, before he was hoisted up even higher. His thighs resting over the man’s shoulders, his back being pushed up the wall.

“N-no, no, no! N-Nikolai… put me d…down!” he squirmed. Nikolai held Jules to the wall, his nails gripping into his already bruised and scratched thighs. His lips dangerously close to his nether-region. And unfortunately for Jules, the strange angle he was being held at only caused him to slide further onto Nikolai’s shoulders.

“N…Nikolai lets… lets talk… about… hggnn… ah~” his voice dwindled as Nikolai slipped his hot, wet tongue between Jules’ thighs. The nurse placed both hands on the top of his head, trying to pushed backwards against the wall, but Nikolai only compensated by moving closer. His fingers laced tightly through the man’s hair, Jules pulled hard, hoping the pain would cause Nikolai to drop him. His muscles were weakened however, from both his tiredness and from the pulsation of nerves spread from Nikolai’s contact.

His tongue lapped in circles as Nikolai pulled Jules closer and closer, burying his face between his legs. He hummed, thoroughly tasting his toy, moaning every time Jules yanked on his hair. The man pulled his head back for just a moment to catch his breath. Jules took this moment to protest, but Nikolai only smiled at him as if entertaining Jules’ concerns.

“Nikolai let me go! This isn’t how communication works!”

“Enough talking,” He dropped Jules down so he rested around the man’s waist once more. Jules could feel his returning erection swelling beneath him, “Don’t worry, I’m being gentle, I assure you.” He chuckled, letting Jules’ feet drop to the ground. He thought this was his chance to run and escape one more time. As he went to duck under Nikolai’s arms once more, the taller man caught him.

“Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. No more games, Vinan.”

Jules was spun around quickly, and he used his palms to hold his balance, preventing his face from smacking into the wall. Nikolai leaned up against the nurse, his lips connecting with Jules’ neck. The touch of his kiss was loving and gentle, but the iron grip he held on Jules’ hips spoke of a whole different set of intentions.

“C…Can I ask you something?” Jules asked, his breath catching in his throat as he felt Nikolai push his erection between his cheeks, prodding teasingly at his entrance. Nikolai softly snickered, smiling against the nape of Jules’ neck.

“Depends… but go ahead.”

“Please don’t hurt me anymore… I’ll behave, but please… I can’t take anymore pain.” Jules whimpered against the wall, already anticipating Nikolai’s heartless denial.

Nikolai gently relaxed his grip on Jules’ hip, instead resting his hands casually against his sides, continuing to pepper kisses across his shoulders.

“It will hurt less if you relax, Mouse.”

That was a lie.

Jules whimpered like an injured animal as Nikolai forced himself into the nurse. He was slow, taking his time entering, but that didn’t stop Jules from squirming uncomfortably. For some reason, Nikolai seemed so much... bigger going in that way. The poor nurse pushed against the wall, trying to get his body to move in a way that might ease the pain. It only made it worse as Nikolai pushed back with equal force.

He didn’t expect the pain to subside as he could feel Nikolai throbbing inside him. All the while Nikolai was whispering sweet words of what sounded like encouragement, but Jules wasn’t paying attention. He was too busy trying to decide whether or not he enjoyed this perverse pain.

On the one hand it hurt, it felt like he was being ripped open. On the other hand, he could feel Nikolai’s swelling girth pressing against his inner walls. Every little movement ignited a new strain of nerves, making Jules moan louder.

An explosion of nerves wracked Jules body as Nikolai began thrusting carefully, his hips barely hitting the wall with enough force to hurt him. The sound of his skin sticking to the walls almost made Jules cringe.

Nikolai proceeded, making attempts to sooth Jules’ pained whimpers with more kisses. His hands massaged at his hips, occasionally bucking his hips forwards, forcing another sound from Jules. Jules pressed his face against the wall, his hot, flustered cheeks feeling soothed against the cold surface.

Nikolai raised his hands from Jules’ hips, sliding them up the wall to meet with the nurses. His fingers slipped between Jules’, lacing their digits and holding his hands tightly. They both panted, Jules finding himself pushing back against the other. His eyes rolled into the back of his head, knees slowly weakening.

“That’s right… feel me, Vinan.” Nikolai groaned, leaning his body flat against Jules, dropping his hands to wrap his arms around the nurses’ waist. Jules whimpered, being wedged between two immoveable forces. Nikolai bit softly at the rim of Jules’ ear, a guttural growl emitting from his throat, “You’ll learn to love me. I’ll make you mine.”

Jules could barely take in what Nikolai was saying. The same mind-numbing ringing filled his ears as before. His body raging with an insane fire that pulsated from his lower gut. He grimaced, breathing becoming laboured. Nikolai held their bodies together quite forcefully; and gently rocked his hips. Jules winced from the jabs of pain with each thrust.

“I… Nikolai it… hurts…” he whined. The taller man snickered, pulling back slightly, kissing along the inside of Jules’ neck and shoulder.

“My bad, Mouse. I did say I’d be gentle.”

Jules was grateful for the mercy he was being granted, and his body relaxed against the wall. His knees rested against the surface as the weakness doubled by his exhaustion began to set in. Noticing this, Nikolai dropped his hands to Jules’ thighs, pulling him back up.

However, it was not enough to keep Jules’ knees from giving out. He could feel the black out coming, and couldn’t even verbalize to Nikolai before he nodded off, his body falling limp.

When Jules woke up, his whole body felt like lead, but he was surrounded by his pillows and blankets. His eyes hurt, stinging whenever he opened them. Tossing his head to the side, he flailed his arm to his left to see if he was alone in the bed. When he felt nothing, and determined he was the only weight in the bed, he slowly sat up, rubbing his eyes hard. When he opened them, they still stung, but he could look around.

Jules’ room was empty. Not a sign of Nikolai in sight. It was dark outside, the moon barely shining through the window. The tree outside his apartment casting eerie shadows on the floor and walls. The only other light in the room was coming from under the door, which was closed.

Jules slowly slid out of his bed; his legs still wobbly. He crawled around on the floor, looking for his underwear and pants. His knees were bruised from being held against the wall, making his venture across the floor uncomfortable. When he did find his clothing, he slipped them on and got up off the floor. He shuffled towards the door, putting his ear against it, listening for any sounds.

After determining he wouldn’t encounter a jump scare right outside his door, Jules opened it, letting the light from the hall flood the room. Peering down the hall, he saw a few books scattered on the floor. Curious, he stepped out and slowly made his way down the hall towards the living room, picking up books as he walked.

When he arrived, Jules was met with a rather shocking scene. His entire living room had been ransacked. Boxes of papers strewn all about. Books pulled off shelves. There was also food all over his floor leading from the kitchen. Cheese puffs, string cheese wrappers and a smashed jar of jelly were just a few he could see from the alcove.

Lying on his couch, bare ass naked; sleeping, was Nikolai. He snored loudly, his fingers caked with cheese powder, and the remanence of jam on the corner of his mouth. Jules sighed, placing the books down on the living room coffee table. He walked over to the hallway closet, retrieving a blanket from the shelf. He returned to the living room, and draped the blanket over Nikolai, making absolutely sure to cover his lower half.

After tending to the sleeping man, he began cleaning up the abundance of mess. Picking up all the books and filing away the papers, he returned the boxes and items to their original places before moving on to the kitchen.

It was just as atrocious. A loaf of bread was torn open and slices littered every tile of the linoleum floor. Three cans of twisted lemon ice tea lied open on the floor. With a silent groan, he grabbed a trash bag from under the kitchen sink and began cleaning up all the trash before sweeping and moping. The clock on his stove read 11:38pm. He was surprised he wasn’t still exhausted.

By the time he finished cleaning, it was midnight. He leaned against the counter, closing his eyes and just let the silence set in. He could still hear Nikolai snoring in the living room. His heart was pounding hard. He knew his front door was ten steps away. He could slip on his shoes, and quickly sneak out. Even if Nikolai did hear him, he’d have to dress himself before leaving, right?

Jules looked over his shoulder, ears straining. He pushed himself off the counter and tip toed across the kitchen. He didn’t bother to grab his keys; afraid it would make too much noise. Instead, he crouched down at the door, slowly slipping on his shoes. Standing up, he rested his hand on the door knob, slowly turning it. He was careful not to apply any weight to the door hinges or jiggle the knob too much.

As the door slowly opened, the suction of the insolation seal made a soft whooshing sound as the air rushed in. Jules froze, cringing as he listened for Nikolai’s snores. For two excruciatingly long moments, he waited for any chance in his breathing pattern.

When he was sure it was safe, Jules slipped out onto the staircase that led down to the ground floor. It was an outdoor staircase, which meant the platform was metal, so Jules had to be careful with his footsteps. The night air was cool as he took delicate footsteps down the stairs until his feet hit concrete. As soon as he did, Jules broke into a sprint. He took off down the road, heading towards the nearest building with lights on.

His run took him a long way away from his apartment, and despite his tiredness from earlier slowly creeping back, he was determined to get help.

Jules turned another corner and was surprised to find himself on his road of work. The Spring Haven facility stood silent yet regal in the dark, The main lobby lights on, and a security guard pacing on the inside of the doors. It was at the opposite end of the road, at least five hundred yards.

Jules panted hard as he ran down the road, his footsteps echoing loudly in the distance. Bouncing off the dark, quiet walls of the closed businesses around him. As the Spring Haven facility neared, one footstep at a time, Jules tried to think of what he was going to tell the head physician. What would he tell the police? They would of course have to get involved.

As Jules felt his slowly approaching freedom, he didn’t hear the faint sound of large bird wings in the distance. The pounding of his heart and the sound of his feet hitting the ground were all he could hear. A cadence that screamed release of his current torment.

Jules screamed when he was knocked forwards, his hands outstretched to break his fall. The ground tore at the skin on his palms as a familiar weight came into contact with him. His heart dropped, smashing into a million tiny fragmented pieces that scattered across the road way.

“Tsk, tsk, Mouse. Now you’ve gone and done it.” Nikolai’s cold voice laughed as his arms wrapped under Jules’ body in a fireman’s hold. Quickly after, he bolted into the sky, launching both of them upwards. Jules screamed. Not wanting to fall and become a human pancake, he grabbed a hold of Nikolai as they soared through the clouds.

They flew for what felt like hours. Jules was shivering from the cold hair relentlessly washing over his body. He kept his face turned into Nikolai’s chest so he could breathe.

Eventually Jules could feel them descending, but the blackness of the night made it hard for him to distinguish where he was. He could smell pine trees, and the loud sound of frogs calling grew more evident as they neared the ground.

When Nikolai touched down, Jules instinctively released his grip and rolled out of the man’s arms. His body hit the ground and he tumbled away from him. Grass and pine needles stuck him in the face as rocks scratched his arms. Jules quickly stood up, but could only see darkness around him. Mosquitos buzzed around his ears and he swatted blindly at them.

“Where are we?! Where did you take me now!? NIKOLAI!?” Jules yelled, holding his arms to his chest as he cautiously stepped around, trying to get his eyes to adjust to his surroundings.

“Now why would you run off like that? I really thought we were having so much fun, Jules.” Nikolai’s voice sliced through the dark like a dagger. Jules spun around in the direction of his voice, but couldn’t see anything. He could hear footsteps slowly prowling around him, snapping twigs and crunching dead grass. Jules tried to follow his movements, slowly turning on the spot to track the sounds.

“Nikolai… I-”

“Shut up. No more of your ‘pwease, I’m sowwy’ bullshit.” His voice shifted quickly from behind Jules to right in front of him. Jules nearly turned so fast he lost his balance. His foot slipped on the grass and fell hard on his bottom.

“You’ve pushed your luck a little too far, and now I have to take slightly more… aggressive measures to ensure you remain mine.”

Jules stared into the darkness stupidly, anticipating another attack, which he was not disappointed. He screamed when his ankle was grabbed, and the poor nurse was dragged across the forest floor. Sticks and leaves got stuck up his sweater and he could taste dirt on his tongue. Wherever he was being taken, Jules had a very bad feeling nobody would know to come looking for him.
