Prologue

The dust fills up the nostrils and John opens his eyes slowly, whimpering in pain. It’s like, he is stuck in the dark compact place with a tint of light coming from the holes.

Holes? What?

John was fully awake, trying to remember how exactly he ended up here. He tried to push the rocks using his legs, strong but careful. He tried to peep outside, not knowing what it is not knowing for how long he was trapped inside the cave. So many questions popped up in his head but all he wanted was to leave the compact cave. As he managed to move those rocks, getting a clear picture of what was outside. A disaster… seems like a nuclear blast.

John’s head started paining and a tingling sound could be heard as he tried to remember. John is an ex-marine. He was on vacation; He went hiking when he heard blasting sounds from the sky. Was that a nuclear blast? Not wasting a second John went into the cave and the last thing he remembers is trapping inside.

The mountain on which he went hiking was not far enough. John hurries towards his town, his house. As he reached closer, he could see nothing but ashes. He couldn’t see a single life form, no humans no animals. Where are those kids? Did anyone survive? Why is this happening? Is the the end of humanity? There were so many questions. Adrenaline rushing through his veins he started searching, only to find the disappointment.

Welcome to the apocalypse. The staring of the new world. A dystopian world.

Shawna: I really enjoying reading this book, I read it twice back to back just in case I missed something lol. Mira & Devryan are actually perfectly fit one another, even when they tried to deny it. You could tell that he wanted her, human or mystic, he was just scared to admit it to himself. She was scared...
