I came home from the store. I'd just bought the game

The Curse

for me and my brother and sister. It was an open-world MMORPG. It had PVP and kingdoms that players had to defend from monsters and other players. There were five classes and five kingdoms. The classes were wizard, archer, warrior, healer, and paladin. The kingdoms were Faladara, Gateway, Flared, Cences, and Safety.

Us? Well, I chose to be a wizard with Savy and Mike chose a paladin. We all chose Gateway because it was the prettiest. We had decided on it before I went to the store. The game also had no quests really. So, it was hard to beat the game. Especially since most quests were side quests and the developers didn't say which ones. I entered the house and gave all of us each a copy of the game.

"Ok," I said. "What are our names going to be? I'll name mine Zelia."

"Uh, maybe I'll name mine Evra," Savy said.

Mike thought for a moment. "Uh, I'll go for a random name."

"But we won't know who you are!" I exclaimed.

"Fine, I'll just put my username but shorten it so... Let's see Leopardseye2022... Uh, Leopard?".

I almost laughed. "Ok, fine," I said. "But for a paladin...?"

Mike groaned. "You have something better?"

, I thought. "Your character," I laughed.

He sighed. "Well, I can't think of any names."

"What about..." Savy thought for a minute. "Derec?"

"Really? But that sounds so normal!"

"No, spelled D-E-R-E-C."

"Hmmm... I guess it works..."

We all went to our rooms to play. I got into the game and put on my headphones. I pressed the play button, waiting for the game to load. It didn't take long for it to bring me to the character creation screen. I could even customize my starting gear!

I clicked on the wizard class and began to make her look like me. I gave her black hair and bright green eyes. It was an odd combination but if it was what I looked like than at least it was more realistic than the violet eyes. I gave her pale skin, like really pale. Like white as paper almost.

Her gear was a long robe that reached down to her heels. I made it purple, my favorite color. I put her hair up in a ponytail and gave her gear a gold trim along the bottom. The customization was endless!

When I finally got into the game, I saw that Mike and Savy were already there. But the first thing I noticed was that I was actually inside the game.
