Chapter 1

“Simone I’m telling you don’t be afraid.” My boyfriend said in a nonchalant voice almost as if he didn’t care. But I know Jaqu, he acts like he doesn’t care but he really does.

“That’s easy for you to say! Your not moving all the way across the fucking world to go live with a man who you haven’t seen since you were like fucking six!” I screamed in anger. I just wanted him to understand we live two totally different lives and honestly I don’t think that got into his thick skull because all he did was shrug. I mean come on now, a fucking shrug! I’m telling you how my life is being turned upside down and all you do is shrug!? Oh hell Nah.

“you know what I’m done.” I say as I slam my books down on the table causing everyone around us to look our way.

“Wait, why?” Jaqu asked like he didn’t just fucking shrug my emotions away!

“Obviously you're not understanding me and you're not trying to either!” I scream standing up. I was so fed up because he was acting all innocent like what the actual fuck?

“Mama sit back down let’s talk this out,” Jaqu said as he reached for my hand but instead of letting him take my hand I slapped his away.

“NO! HELL NAH! I’m done fucking talking because you ain’t gonna listen anyways! So why should I waste my fucking voice and energy on you? Like the fuck.” I said as I begin to walk away. And surprisingly enough I heard his chair move and his foot steps… NOT. That nigga don’t give two fucks about me and I know I said I understood but I don’t and I never will. As I was exiting the restaurant I couldn’t help but notice everyone still staring at me like I was some type of monster. “What the fuck y’all looking at? The fuck!” I screamed making all of them hella uncomfortable but I don’t fucking care. They was all staring at me like I was a walking reality tv show like hell no I’m not about to let that happen.

“Excuse me, can I sit here?” I heard a quiet voice ask as if I was some type of bench stealer. I was outside of the restaurant at this point just sitting down waiting for my Uber to come pick me up because my boyfriend; who still hadn’t come check on me might I add. He was still there.

“The fuck you askin’ me to sit on a public bench for?” I said still kinda angry and staring at my phone.

“So is that a no?” I heard the voice ask once again. This time all I could do was roll my eyes.

“Come sit yo’ tiny ass down.” I said and a few minutes later I saw someone sit down from the corner of my eye. No more words were exchanged for a while though. Until,

“So I saw you in there with what I assume to be your boyfriend.” She said outta nowhere.

“Yeah and why the fuck you in my business?” I said finally looking up at her to find the cutest girl in the universe. I think I threatened her because she was fidgeting with the lil rings on her finger like crazy.

“Yeah well, I just thought I’d tell you never let somebody get you all worked up like that again. Because well it’s not worth it and this is coming from a girl who’s been to Juvie six times.” She said and then after that she was gone. And to be honest I’m kinda glad she left because what the fuck was I supposed to say to her after that?

“Hey Bae you can cancel the Uber I’m driving you home.” I heard a familiar voice say. It was Jaqu but the fuck he think he is tryna boss me around like that?

“Actually you can cancel our relationship. Because well I said so,” I said standing up.

“So that’s it? After one fucking arguement that’s it?” Jaqu asked with frustration in his voice.

“Nah I’m kidding but don’t listen again and see what the fuck happen.” I said sitting back down. I heard a lil chuckle come from his direction and that caused me to smile. No matter what I loved him. Even if he didn’t listen sometimes he was my one and only. And one arguement wasn’t finna stop that.

The drive home was filled with laughter and jokes between me and my Bae of course. And it’s not like I forgot about my lil outburst in that restaurant, it's just that it didn’t matter no more. I got my point across and we through that’s it. See other people be holding grudges and shi but that’s not me. And it ain’t Ja either and that’s why we work so good together.

“Ja, can I stay the night at yours?” I asked when he made the turn into my neighborhood.

“I would ask why but I ain’t tryna get yelled at no more but did you ask yo mama?” I said his eyes on the road making him look hot as fuck.

“Ain’t no need. Her damn fiancé is there and the nigga wanna see me fail. He don’t like me and I didn’t do shit to him!” I said and Ja just nodded.

“Bae I ain’t sidin with him but you are a lot to handle so if he came from a relationship with no kids to four kids and you that’s a big change maybe he needs to warm up.” Ja said cautiously like I was gonna flip on him. And I was but then I thought about it.

“The nigga engaged to my fucking motha! That bitch is worse than me! If he can deal with her he can deal with me! he don’t need no warmin’ up he jus’ don’t fuck wit’ me and that’s ok. The whole world don’t gotta like me but don’t be praying on my downfall. “ I said and he just nodded while pulling up in my driveway. So that was a no to his house.

“Babe I would love for you to come over today but that’s gonna have to wait another day. You need to get as much family time as possible before they move you out of the country.” He said, looking at me. And all I could do was laugh. The lil nigga talkin to me ‘bout how I need “family” time as I’m explaining to him how much I don’t like my family. Well some parts. That just proved he didn’t listen to me.

“Yeah ok,” I said as I exited the car. “Oh and we don’t gotta wait another day. Because it’s no more us. Enjoy yo life Ja.” I said before I slammed the door shut and walked into my house.

“Simone! You and Ja are famous!” My little sister Scarlett said running towards me.

“Whatcu mean me and my ex are famous?” I said taking off my shoes and jacket.

“Ex?” Scarlett and Amari who I assume only heard that part said at the same time.

“Yeah we broke up today,” I said walking to the living room.

“BITCH! You telling me you and yo man broke up?” Amari said walking behind me to the living room.

“Yes that lil nigga never fucking listen and he always try to boss me around like the fuck you think you is?” I said as I sat on the couch.

“Love is doom.” Scarlett said right as her and Amari sat across from me.

“No, don't say that. Me and Ja-“

“You still callin’ him Ja?” Amari said, interrupting me which is a big pet peeve of mine but whateva’

“Girl go get yo phone and get yo man back.” She said not letting me even talk.

“No need, I already got it and I’m calling him right now.” Scarlett said sitting back down which confused me because I didn’t even know her ass for up.

“Whe- WHAT YOU GOT MY PHONE!” I screamed once I heard the ringing sound. I ain’t never been no nervous or shy person but I just made a whole fucking scene and then he gets a cal from me. Imagine how fucking desperate that seems!

“Hello?” I hear Ja’s voice say with utter confusion on the other side of the phone.

“HANG UP THE PHONE SCAR!” I scream as I dove toward her but not before she got up and ran.

“Nope!” She screamed while still running away from me with my phone.

“HANG UP THE DAMN PHONE!” I screamed as I tried running after her but Amari got up and tried to hold me back.

“RUN SCAR RUN!” Amari screamed and Scar did as she was told and ran with my phone.

“BITCH IF YOU DONT LET ME GO!” I screamed as I begin to kick and wiggle trying to get loose but her grip just tightened.

“JAQUUUU! SIMONE WANTS TO GET BACK TOGETHER WITH YOU BUT SHE’S TOO MUCH OF A PUSSY TO ADMIT I!” Scarlett screamed from another room in the house making sure I heard what she was saying. That caused me to wiggle and kick some more but Amari was strong as fuck and I was not getting anywhere with kicking and screaming.

“HOW DO I KNOW? SHE WAS OVER HERE CALLING YOU JA AND SHI EVEN AFTER SHE TOLD ME YA’LL BROKE UP. SHE STILL HAS SO MUCH LOVE FOR YOH AND SHE TOLD ME TO TELL YOU TO COME OVER… NINE IS GOD OK SEE YOU SOON!” Scarlett screamed before she skipped back into the living room where Amari was holding me hostage and she handed me back my phone.

“Ja said he’s coming over at nine so be prepared love,” Scarlett said with the biggest smile on her face like she ate. Which she didn’t but that don’t matter.

Amari finally let me go and went to high five Scarlett.

“Don’t ruin yo second chance girl.” Amari said before she grabbed Scarlett’s hand and exited the living room right as I heard a knock at the door. I checked the time to realize it was exactly nine…

I didn’t know if I should open the door or just don’t answer but they were right I did still have love for Ja but I also felt as though he didn’t understand where I was coming from and that just pissed me off. Everything always had to be about him never about me. I felt as though he was bringing me down and that he was only in a relationship with me to say he was in a relationship not for actual love and shit. And he showed multiple signs that night and many times before that he doesn’t care. But it didn’t matter I was in love… I guess that love was the reason I opened the door.
