Chapter One
“And that is what’s happening in Andros City.” Amelia said, smiling brightly as she spoke to the camera. “This is Amelia Harris reporting. Have a great day Andros City.”
“And that’s a wrap!” Nick shouted right after he turned the camera off.
The bright lights turned off, making it easier for both Nick and Amelia to see the podcast room. The live light icon turned off.
“That was quite the report.” Fiona said, entering the podcast room. She smiled. “It’s great having one of my best podcasters back.” She continued. “Trying to have other people do live reports on the Knights isn’t easy.”
Amelia and Nick looked at each other. They hadn’t realized that Fiona had been trying to have other people besides Zane and Nick trying to do reports on the Knights’ fight against the Omnis.
“Well, I am back and ready to do the next Knights’ live podcast.” Amelia told Fiona. She was eager to get back to doing big podcasts and reports.
“Now that’s the team spirit I’m looking for.” Fiona said. She closed the door to the podcast room. “Which is why I need to ask you something.” She told Amelia. She crossed her arms over her chest and her smile vanished. “Are you Knight Dreamer?”
Fiona waited a few minutes before she continued. “It’s just that, Knight Dreamer was seen vanishing into thin air during a fight against the Omnis and then Nick and Zane told me you were away for personal reasons. Knight Dreamer returns and you show up the next day ready to work.” She explained. “You can see why I need to ask.
Amelia started laughing. “Right, I’m Knight Dreamer.” She said. She looked at Nick. “How good am I at fighting?” She asked him.
Nick laughed as well. He knew what Amelia was doing. “Amelia isn’t a fighter.” He told Fiona. “We tried a few karate classes a few months ago and she nearly took out the instructor.”
Fiona’s eyes widened as she looked at the two. “Is that true?” She asked. She knew that some people were clumsy at some things but she had never thought Amelia was that clumsy.
“What can I say? I’m more of a reporter and podcaster than a fighter.” Amelia replied, shrugging as she spoke. “If I was Knight Dreamer, I would have disappeared for long times a lot longer.”
“Well, I still will be looking into the identities of the Knights.” Fiona told the two.
That was exactly what Amelia and Nick were hoping to hear her say.
“What if we were to tell you that Zane was looking into that?” Nick asked. “And that he has a lead.”
“I better talk to him then.” Fiona said before she walked out of the room.
Once Fiona was out of the room, Amelia let out a sigh of relief. “That was too close.” She told Nick. “We can’t let her find out about you or me being Knights.” She knew that if Fiona found out, she would announce it in a podcast report and the F.B.I. would show up to take the two away.
“She’s gonna find out sooner or later if we’re not too careful.” Nick replied. “If what happened to you happens to Zane or me, she won’t be able to ignore the signs when she sees that Knight Ninja or Knight Dragon are missing.”
Amelia went to the door and peeked out. She could see Fiona talking to Zane. “Do you think this plan will work?” She asked Nick. They were taking a huge chance by telling Fiona about the original Knight Armser.
“This plan only works if George and his team convince their friends at the Department of Internet Security to help us.” Nick replied. He still wasn’t keen on working with any branch of the government. Drake and Hunter were so against the government’s involvement with Knights that they kept picking fights with Agent Knight and Navy Knights.
“If George was telling the truth about the D.I.S. helping with the fight against the Benefactor in Lockwood, we should be able to trust them with this.” Amelia said. She just hoped that none of them would regret it.
