Prologue

“Lily, come see their costumes!” yelled Isabella from upstairs. Upon entering the room, she immediately sees the two babies dressed in a little Hogwarts robe. There was a quick flash of light. Isabella was taking pictures with her Polaroid camera. Lily got closer and bent down as Isabella took the photo that fell out of the camera. She slipped it into her bag before taking another one.

“Isa, you certainly have outdone yourself with this,” Lily said as she looked at year old Harry and Scarlett nice and cuddling together. Isabella gave her best friend an admirable smile.

“I have to, as the godmother of Harry. I must give him the first peak of my clothing brand.” Isabella jokes. Isabella was up all night before sewing the two robes by hand due to her personal sewing machine having broken. She was used to the muggle items, thanks to Lily. The two mothers became best friends from their time at Hogwarts, First year. After that, the two were tied at the hip. It was better as they both were in Gryffindor.

Isabella looked at the watch on her wrist. “I have to go and get the candy for tonight,” she said as she put her camera in her bag. “Harry can keep the costume on if you’d like. I will be back no later than 7:00. If I’m not here just go without me and I will call you.” Isabella mumbles as she collects her things and lastly picks up Scarlett.

Lily laughs at her disorganized friend as she picks up Harry holding him close. “Okay Isa, be careful. Scarlett is only a year.” Lily remains Isabella. The brunette nods her head. She walks over to Lily and places a small kiss on Harry’s forehead.

“See you soon little Potter,” Isabella whispers before walking out of the room.

The house became quiet now that it was only Lily and Harry left. She looked down at her son seeing him playing with a button on his robe. Lily placed Harry down into the crib, staring at him as she gently smoothing him to sleep.

Time had passed by a lot to which Isabella hadn’t noticed that it was now almost 8 o’clock as she was occupied cleaning up the leftover wraps of Halloween decorations . Isabella placed the last wrapper in the trash bin, something outside the window caught her attention. She took another glance to see a few Death Eaters standing in front of her home. Isabella’s stomach dropped, as she heard a few voices outside the front door. Without a second thought, Isabella waved her hand placing a protecting charm on the house to hold off whoever it was trying to get inside. She quickly went to the hallway closet pulling out a medium side bag and a letter that was already sealed to which she had written several days before after finding out her lover was a Death Eater.

“Bongles.” she whispered before another minute passed. A gray owl with light brown feathers flew in, grabbing the letter and leaving. After the owl left she hurried down the hall to her bedroom but stopped in her tracks as the sound of shatter glass broke the silence, they had finally got in. The front door had opened as three masked Death Eaters enter the living room with their wands ready.

“Isabella, the Lord wants you and the child. Come out while I’m asking nicely.” spoke one. Panic was sent up and down her spine as she reached her room, she quietly closed the door behind her. She quickly walked over to bed and placed down the duffel bag before heading to the crib and picking up Scarlett, quickly wrapping her up in a blanket.

“Isa, come out. Don’t make us hurt you.” Spoke another one. Isabella knew this voice very well, Lucius Malfoy. Her breath got caught in her throat hearing the one man who welcomed her into his home not to long ago. The man who held her daughter just last month.

“You’re smart Isa, don’t be like your Gryffindor friend and end up dead.” He spoke again. Isabella’s eyes widened as Lily came to mind. Lily couldn’t be dead. She was a very powerful witch.

“You’re lying.” Isabella spoke but in their mind not wanting to give up her location. Lucius laughed, he was always amazed by her unknown power reasons why the Lord wanted her. Her and her daughter were the key to becoming unstoppable.

“No Isa, the Lord made a personal visit.” Lucius said again as he walked around the living room, looking at the pictures. Some of the pictures had his wife and son in them as well.

Isabella had been friends with the Malfoy’s when she got romantically involved with Snape. She had been to their home when they announced their son’s birth.

Isabella placed Scarlett on the bed, and took out a wrap. She wrapped herself up leaving a pocket for Scarlett to fit. Isabella gently picked up her daughter and placed her into the front carrier wrap. Once Scarlett was secured in the wrap, Isabella waved her wand over the duffle bag, sending it to the secret location where the letter was sent along with other items that Isa found important.

In the house the Death Eaters started going room by room. Kicking, tossing and throwing stuff onto the floor. Without another warning a masked Death Eater set the house on fire. Isabella smelt smoke and knew they were burning her home down. She couldn’t go out there and fight, not while having Scarlett. They had her outnumbered to fight off. She would have to run. One thing she hated but there was no choice right now.

Isabella snapped back to reality when she heard the door knob to her bedroom jiggle as if someone was trying to get in. As the jiggle started to get aggressive, Isabella clenched the bag and placed a kiss on her daughter’s head as she thought of the one place that always felt like home. A safe place.

Just as the door opened, Isabella turned around to see Lucius Malfoy; that was the last thing she saw before apparating into father’s office.

“Isa?” spoke Isa’s father. In the office would be a meeting with a few other important people. Isabella turned to her father as panic set in her eyes. She looked around the well lit room then stopped at a basket by Hagrid. Isa’s father studied his daughter’s appearance and the look in her eyes.

“Isa my dear, I bear breaking news.” Albus took a pause as his daughter looked him in the eyes. “The Dark Lord has murdered Lily Potter and James Potter. Harry survived the unforgiving spell.” He said. Isabella’s eyes widened hearing the news and trail over to the basket. It was Harry, their child and her godson. Her eyes tear up but she refuses to break down here.

“Miss. Dumbledore, are you okay?” spoke Professor McGonagall, Isabella looked at the crowd.

“They came to the house. They said the Dark Lord wants Scarlett and I…” Isabella spoke, her voice sounding dry.

“Headmaster Dumbledore, what shall we do?” McGonagall asked him politely, Albus Dumbledore stared at his daughter and granddaughter. As one of Albus’s dear friends led her to the sofa. Isabella took a seat and pulled the wrap down revealing Scarlett. It broke his heart that the Dark Lord would try to capture Isabella and Scarlett.

He sighed and walked over, “Isa my dear, I suggest you flee the country till you get your bearings right. Running isn’t a Gryffindor thing but..” Albus paused as he looked down at his granddaughter who was awake and looking around. “I need you and Scarlett safe.” He said it loud and clear. Isabella looked her father in the eyes and nodded her head. She knew that if she left, Harry would go to the Dursley family.

“Can I take Harry, father?” She asked softly. Albus shook his head.

“No dear, I want him close in case harm comes. We can protect him.” He said as he took a seat next to his daughter. Isabella nodded her head as a way of saying she understood. She took Scarlett out of the wrap and often Scarlett to him. Albus smiled and gently grabbed his granddaughter, cradling her in his arms.

“Here Miss. Dumbledore, Harry is awake.” Hagrid said as he handed him to her. Isabella took the child in her arms and supported him on her lap.

“I can’t take you with me Little Potter, but when you are older. I will find you, I promise.” Isa said as she gently kissed his forehead.

musa moo: Its a sweet story. The writing is very good. The only thing I found wanting was the structurisation. Whenever there was a change in scenario or situation, I wish there was some kind spacing or something to indicate that there's a change ahead. Because of that it became a bit confusing in the middle ...

Artsy_Olivia: I love the work... I work with writers as a visual artist to adapt stories into webtoons, comics, character designs, and cover art, and your world naturally fits that space. I’d love to collaborate on bringing these visual elements to life if you're ever looking to expand the project.
