Chapter 1
In a sea of indistinguishable green
You have stood out to me
I’ve searched for years
digging through stems
And counting leaves
Only for my counting to come short
One two three
One two three
One two three
All these years
I’ve found nothing to marvel at
No beautiful abnormalities
Or wonderful oddities
Desperately I have searched
For something different
in a world that is sickeningly the same
As I was ready to end my search,
I found you
You were buried beneath a thick patch of three-leaved clovers
A patch I have searched over and over
But this time I dug deeper
And there you were
I plucked you from the ground
And excitedly counted
One two three
Four
In a sea of mediocrity
You are a marvel
A peculiarity worth picking
You are something wonderfully unique
You are exceedingly rare
How lucky am I to have found you
