The story so far...

Dreamscape is a novel written within the Alarian Warriors Universe.Though these books do not need to be read in order, they do continue the overall storyline of the universe when read together. However, each story follows a different person/ being and tells their own story. So here’s a little catch-me-up for those who haven’t read the other books without major spoilers. Feel free to go back and read the others if you want to know more!

The story so far...

The world is divided into three realms or areas, Alarious, Solise and Terramore. (Or so we’ve been told). Alarious was once ruled by a so-called ‘goddess’ named Vexous, said to be high in the heavens. Terramore is still currently ruled by the Demon Lord, Asheria. A dark, unground area with no entry or exit to those other than demons. Solise (often referred to as Earth, as in the ground that can grow crops and produce life), the middle ground, is constantly in a power struggle between good and evil. The primary home of humans and the focal point of all clashes between Alarious and Terramore.

Two gods are believed to have created the world and its people: Vexous & Asheria.

Vexous mysteriously vanishes, leaving behind a race she created and governed for the sole purpose of protecting humankind; the alarians. How they were created and by what means is still a mystery.

Asheria, not being fond of the new creations, cursed and corrupted these beings, causing more even chaos in his favour. Sprinkling them with a little bit of his own bloodlust and anger issues. While producing his own darker version of the Alarians, which he called demons.

Once cursed, the goddess tried to combat the misfortune and empowered the alarians further with the souls of their fallen comrades. This was in the form of a fragile glass-like ball that merged with the body. Every generation becoming stronger than the last. This ‘aura’, as they called it, granted them abilities and powers that set them well apart from humans and their ancestors, some even calling them celestial beings or angels, as when they travelled to solise they would often descend from above, appearing through blinding fissures of light.

The king & queen of Alarious tried to train the alarians to overcome their curse, as feeding on and killing the ones they were meant to protect was a hard blow to their egos. But in the end, the alarian king was corrupted by Asheria, putting a disastrous end to the effects of the alarians and destroying any means of reaching alarious ever again. As well as making it a point to destroy all the auras.

Generations of progress were lost seemingly overnight. During this dark time, the river of souls, which is tucked safely away on Alarious, stopped flowing. Meaning no children would be born with souls, sadly resulting in only stillborns. The population then began to decline, and the outlook for Solise became rather grim.

After four decades, a new hope was found in the form of an alarian princess who is trained to fight with a group of allies on Solise. After her quest is complete and they make it to alarious, she takes on the role of the new goddess in that she creates warriors once again to defend Solise from the ever-growing demon lord’s antics.

The Princess seals herself on the planes of alarious, never to be able to set foot on the earthly ground of Solise again, integrating her verying being with the small pocket that is alarious and ascending to new heights. In doing so, she is able to restart the cycle of rebirth by making the river of souls flow once more.

Erosvent, who this story follows, is one of those whom the alarian Princess ascends as one of her warriors.

A new world, a new alarian Warrior.

And so, let us begin this journey with Erosvent...

(Above is the world map of Solise with Alarious off to the side.)
