FOREWORD

FOREWORD

The time period is the early 1960’s about 1964. It is late spring, early summer in the Over-brook section of West Philadelphia.

The trees are in full bloom with various colors soft pastels in yellow, pink, and purple flowers attached to their branches.

Trolley cars whiz on their tracks outside of Grand-pops beautiful white and red row house with a big screen and windowed inside porch, along with, police cars and fire trucks because both the fire and police headquarters are at the end of the block.

In front of Grand-pops house sits his beautiful silver and green Model T Ford.

Grand-pop has a large backyard off of a gigantic mud room with a private bathroom which contains a shower, sink, and toilet. The mud room also contains a deep double sink shelves, and cabinets for storage, along with hooks and shelves for rain and snow gear.

Grand-pops backyard has an apple, pear and peach tree. He also has green grapes growing on wines on a back slanted roof top.

Consequently, Grand-pop makes wine out of his grapes and apples and stores the wine in huge barrels so it can process and age.

I can't have full conversations with them as I've only memorized like 50 words but I thought this story was cute and it ...

Heika van Walderveen: I had to get used to the style. It’s a lot of switching and getting back into the story of the characters. Also the different timelines were a bit confusing in the beginning. But once you’re used to it, it’s really quite original. The plot is good, but it’s only book 1 (out of 3), but so far so good...
