Prologue: The Death of King Raegan
King Armas, the last druid king, was usurped by his enemies on the eve of his 45th year, amid the war of Ravensmeer. The Rohdall family then ruled the continent of Trigan for centuries following their great conquest.
Their reign was only halted by the most recent crowning of the family's eldest son, Raegan Rohdall. A boy king named ruler of the land and magickal realm at the mere age of seventeen following the illness of his beloved father, Veston, who had already ruled for decades.
King Raegan was murdered by rogue mercenaries during his own coronation ball. Stabbed through the heart in view of his subjects, advisors, and even his young mother. The royal city of Stourmroust grieved the untimely death of a boy they'd watched grow since he toddled behind his Queen Mother's skirts. His body was laid in honor to the royal crypts beneath the depths of the city, but the throne was abandoned.
Havoc rained through the once peaceful streets as King Raegan's gold and jewels had been lost to the thieves and beggars who ransacked the empty Rohdall castle. Putting an end to the madness, power was reinstalled when Rohdall's most trusted advisor, Kellen Morgant, assumed responsibility for the throne until a rightful heir could be crowned in succession to their fallen king.
To this day, the royal city of Stourmroust, the home to humans, elves, fae and halflings alike, stands with no named ruler.
And the realm continues to lie in tentative shambles.
