Chapter 1

Running. That's all I've ever known, from what I don't know. My gut lets me know when I need to get moving again. Well my gut and my wolf Sarah.

But before we get to that lets start at the beginning. I grow up with a mom and dad like every one else. Even had a big brother, and a little brother and sister that were twins. We would eat meals together, me and Josh, short for Joshua, would play with the twins Lily and Ryan. We would play in the woods for hours running and laughing. Till dad called us in for bed. Josh is 13, the twins are 6. While we're at it I guess I should introduce myself.

Hi, my name is Ava and your reading my diary. I am an werewolf, my wolfs name is Sarah. I'm 5'10 with dark black hair, curves in all the right places. I'm in good shape since I am always on the move, even though I could win a eating contest no questions asked.

I had a good relationship with my whole family but I was closest with Josh. We were always attached by the hip, if you needed or wanted one of us you got us both. We would go for runs in our wolf form almost every night. You have your wolf with you when you born, till you die. Just not your wolf form, you get that at 13 but I got mine when I turned 10. It was really scary I had no idea what was going on and neither did my parents. All I knew was I felt funny when I woke up and my wolf was on edge. So she went to try to figure out what was happening. I didn't hear from her until about an hour after the pain hit. When she finally spoke up and said "Ava everything's going to be ok your shifting". I bite back "what do you mean, you don't shift till your 13th birthday". "I don't know why but it's happening tonight. I will take as much of pain as I can" she said before she went away again.

When I came back to reality, the pain was just a dull ach. Thank you Sarah. Mom was pacing back an forth almost making a hole in the carpet. The twins were in the corner hugging each other an crying. Dad an Josh were next to me gently shaking my shoulders. "Guys I'm fine, Sarah said I'm going to shift tonight". "WHAT" They all shout shout loud except the twins that were trying to calm down. "What do you mean Ava that's nearly unheard of" dad said after a moment of silence. " I don't know Sarah said I was going to shift tonight, that she didn't know why, and took as much pain away as she could".

That was a very long night for all of us. Waiting to see what would happen. We tried to get the twins to go to bed but they refused saying they wanted to be there for me. Mom and dad eventually caved and we all sat outside waiting for the show to begin. At 12:58 it started, my bone started popping out of place and readjusting. I'll spare you the detail as it felt like forever till it was done, but was really only 45 minutes. When I turned everyone gasped and appeared to be in awe. I wanted to know what the big deal was so I rush to the pond close to the house. What I saw put me in awe as well. Turns out I had a small black star on my completely white coat, on my hip. I didn't know what it meant at the time and still don't today but maybe one day I will.

After that life was normal. Until one morning I woke up, got ready and headed to the kitchen for breakfasts. We all sat at the table and ate of pancakes and sausage. After we cleaned up mom asked me to go pick some fresh flowers, the old ones were looking a little to dead. I was out for maybe an hour. When I got back I couldn't fine anyone. I shouted there names but no response. So I decided to sit and wait in the living room. After I while I must have fallen asleep. When I woke up I still could find anybody. I couldn't think of anywhere they could be. Eventually night fell and it was time to go to sleep.
