Chapter 1

Layla takes a peak on the outside from the parted curtain by the window. Under the starless clouds, the town of Edinburgh looks menacing, giving rise to dark thoughts in Layla's mind, of what horrible things and crime that could go down in the quiet chilling night if an unfortunate soul happens to be stuck outside.

She shivers as her thoughts creep her out. she pulls the curtains close getting away from window as she goes around her house checking the windows and doors of the one story building she inherited from her ex-husband as part of alimony during their divorce, making sure that they are properly locked.

Climbing up the bed after the trip round the house, making sure that the house is secure. closing her eye's she plans to doze off when the warm hands of Finley Matthew embrace her from behind, gathering her in his arms making her giggle and his hands roaming her body in sexual advances. Turning to him, the two engage in a fiery hot passionate kiss.

Swiftly undressing each other, they fest on each other with eagerness and anticipation, kissing..... sucking..... fucking and moaning in delight into the quiet night. right as they were drawing close to their climax the sound of a shattering glass echoed throughout the house disrupting their intense moment and causing a shrill chill down their spine as they abruptly disengage their body causing Finley to let out a annoyed grunt at the loss of body contact.

Finley and Layla lock gaze amidst being nude, the sound of their breathing being the only sound heard in the room.

“Do you think someone broke in?" Finley ask in panic as his youthful face mars in worry.

"no.. no one would dare break in. l made sure the doors and windows are properly closed," Layla assures her young lover as she picks up her night wear discarded on the floor during their intimate moment. putting them on, she says to her Finley, "stay here, let me check what happened."

"what if it is a break in?" Finley panic as he drapes himself in what remains of his night robe, which was shredded by Layla during their heated moment minutes ago.

"do not worry, this house is the most secure building in Edinburg, it is probably a glass cup falling from not being positioned properly, l will be back soon." she say as Finley made to follow her.

saying this, she exits the room, leaving the panicked Finley pacing the room in worry.

moving out of the room, Layla turns on the torch light she grabbed from her room, as everywhere was shrouded in darkness.

carefully but steadily, she descend the stairs, checking the living room to see it looking normal before moving to the kitchen. her eyes dart around the kitchen taking in everything as she flash the torch light, looking for any sign of a break-in. looking around the two rooms downstairs, she sigh in relieve not seeing any shattered glass nor any sign of a break-in.

"that crashing sound must have been made by the neighbors," she mutter into the quiet night. relieved, she ascend  the stairs leading to her bedroom and stopping to check the two other rooms upstairs excluding her own room and the bathroom. satisfied, she goes into her room with anticipation to continue with Finley, their sexual intimacy, but the smile on her face falls as she see's Finley's figure lying on the bed under the duvet, looking like he is in a deep sleep.

"he must have slept off," she thinks, climbing the bed as she seductively inch close to Finley intending to wake him up and continue from where they stopped.

Annoyed by Finley's unresponsiveness, she pats him heavily on the back to get him awake. in that moment, Layla notices that something is off and definitely not okay. grabbing the torch light, she flashes it on Finley as she take off the duvet covering him.

"oh my God......" Layla gasp in shock, unable to move and gripped with fear on seeing the once healthy Finley drenched in blood on the side of bed he is lying on, as his body lay still, the look on his dead face that of horror.

A large hole on his chest indicate that he was stabbed on the chest in a brutal manner. Layla's wide eye takes in the absolutely horrifying images her brain register. she lets out a silent scream as tears fall down her face. terrified and mortified, she stays rooted on the bed, her mind blank from any thought as she stare at the dead Finley.

in that moment of breathtaking horrid sight, a human figure clocked in all black outfit enters the room, unknown to the shocked Layla and stabs her in the neck right before she could understand the invasion and scream for help.

the figure watch as Layla struggle to stop the bleeding from her neck as she gurgle’s going into convulsion. struggling futilely, Layla looses consciousness as her eyes roll back and her breath finally cease as she lay in an awkward posture.

the figure seemingly unsatisfied at Layla’s death stabs her dead body with a knife, over and over again, blood splashing like water sprinkles all over until Layla's body turned into a grotesque sight.
