Anessas pov~

“You always seem to have that look on your face when Mr. Selcinco tells us off”.

Rachel says that and I feel my eyes roll before they do I then look at her tall frame with her brunette hair and shrug after I just turn around and walk off.

I walk outside to go to the cafe they have across from the university I hear my name being called

“Nessa,Nessa hey”. I stop and look at my ex boyfriend Samuel and see his golden hair and green eyes and smirk I see he came all the way across from his college out of state just to say what hmm I’m guessing how he is sorry for dissing me with his real girlfriend.

I flip my grey hair yes grey I just loved how it made me look like an ice queen with my icy blue eyes, I look at the person who I used to look up too.



I say” look here Samuel go back to your campus I’m sure your princess is waiting for her frog “.

I keep my head high and see it’s my turn to cross so I walk across the street and head inside, once there I smell the aroma I love so much the banana nut bread they bake fresh each morning.

I get in line and my new friend Taylor I have come to know since being here at the university I see him.

he says “ Now Anessa baby girl why is that lame ex of yours here isn’t he stuck with princess “.

I laugh at him and watch him flick his pink nails I shake my head and say “ look i don’t really care just let me get a banana nut bread and a vanilla bean coffee ”.

I pull out my last money for the week knowing my check won’t be here for another 2 days and I’m lucky I went to buy a little groceries for my house and a few tank tops since it’s hot this summer.

I see Taylor nod his head towards the door and I see a tall guy in a suit with a laptop in his hand looking at me I spin around to look at Taylor who I see doing anything to get this man attention I shake my head at him.

I walk to my famous seat thats used to my ass by now and take my phone out to look for anymore gigs so I can find some extra cash.

If you want to know yes I am low class and sometimes at the end of my money but I will always remain who I am I’m not used to all that fancy stuff due to me being a foster kid after my mom left me alone with the neighbor while now at 21 years old I’m still struggling but I won’t let that be my future.

I am interrupted by Taylor bringing my order and I happily inhale the smell of my coffee with my eyes closed.

Only to open them to see the strange guy who was staring now sitting in front of me I jump and yelp spilling some of my drink and I groan because that was my last money.

I glare at the guy and say “ what the hell dude “.

I see his mouth tilt upwards a little but let it slide I then begin to get up and walk off I grab my bag with my bread and drink after I hurry out not giving him another single stare.

Asher pov~

“Mr. Filone I’m sorry to say that your 2 o’clock meeting is canceled due to the others not being able to make it”.

I nod and see my assistant walk out I then get up and walk to my bar and grab a shot of scotch and down it.

I pick up the papers I’m supposed to fill out and I see that one of my competitors are going up in the business chain I groan I will have to take them down too maybe send a inside person to find out their dirty little secrets.

I hear my phone and sigh when I see whose name it is I know I should be happy my 78 year old grandpa is calling but damn dude he’s been up a man’s ass lately.

I answer and say” hey old man how you been”.

I hear him laugh and he says “ fine I would like to just you know get straight to the point you need a wife or a serious girlfriend because I’m not getting any younger and you need to take over fully “.

I groan inwardly because he always wants me to bring a women that I love, I’m to the point where I would tell him to fuck off but I don’t.

I say”look pa you know I am enjoying life plus I’m not ready I’m only 27 I am still young but I will keep what you’re requesting in my head”.

He sighs and says“ well son just know you will always meet someone to make you feel in love but I will let you go “.

After he hangs up I go to drink my coffee and see my cup is empty, I would send my assistant but I have the need for fresh air so I get up and grab my laptop just in case I need to work from there.

I walk out of my office and on my way out I see my assistant I say

” Carol I’m going out I will call you if I’m not coming back any important calls send them to my main phone“.

She says “ okay boss “.

I continue my journey for more coffee I see my driver outside,my assistants doing I’m sure since she calls him to let him know when I’m leaving since I don’t like being late or waiting long.

I get in and just nod and say” to get coffee please Arthur “.

He nods and drives off, much to my dismay I keep thinking back to what my grandpa was saying I mean I haven’t had a real girlfriend since when I was a freshman in college which ended with my heart broken caught her with my best bud and that’s when I turned to a single man who the ladies long and some love to have a night with.

I feel the car stop and look up to see we are at the new cafe my sister said try she’s a professor at the university across the street from here, I get out with a quick nod to Arthur and head inside.

Once inside I smell this amazing scent I look around my surroundings and my eyes catch the back of a grey haired lady with the most enticing body I have seen in a while,I see the cashier tell her something and she laughs and from where I’m standing she looks beautiful.

I watch her with a passion I see her pay for her order when the guy nods his head towards me and she sees me staring I see she has icy blue eyes compared to my ocean blue ones, I see she noticed me and she just spins back to cashier which from the looks of it they know each other she then shakes her head at him and walks to go sit down.

I watch her for a minute until I go order once there I say “ hey can I have a large coffee 2 drops of vanilla bean please and a double shot expresso”.

I see the cashier dude trying to flirt or send looks my way I pay for my order then look around only to hear the cashier say “ she is really something else and a beauty in her own way”.

I see him nod his head towards the grey haired lady and when I look I see she is interested more in her phone.

I say” hmm does she come here often what did she order”.

I see him nod he then says “ look I have to get her order to her but don’t expect her to drool over you like me and a vanilla bean coffee with banana nut bread don’t say I told you “.

I look at the cashier his blonde hair in a bun on his head while he is pressing buttons with his pink nails and smirk.

I watch him hand her the order and she smells the coffee and I smile she likes the same flavor as me, I walk and take a seat in front of her she is still smelling her drink with her eyes closed. When she opens then she jumps and yelps when some of her drink spills, her voice is so smooth and sultry, I almost smile a little bit can’t give it away.

She yells at me and hurries to get up and she grabs her things and leaves without glancing back at me and I feel a little offended she just looked at me like nothing, I see she left her wallet I get up and grab it to go catch her but she’s already gone I see the cashier bringing my drink I grab it and head out like it’s nothing.

I get in where my driver is waiting for me after I sip the coffee and relax after the hot liquid goes down my throat then pull out the lady’s wallet, I know it’s not right to go through a woman’s wallet but I open it to see $10 and a few cards but one catches my eye a university Id with a picture of her smiling and I look to see she smiles like nothing can ruin her.

I see her name is Anessa Flowers and she is 21 I sigh wow she is young I look to find she is staying not far from the university in the little townhomes, I get a text from my assistant saying my grandpa called the office and sigh he just doesn’t give up I’m sure he tried to set me up with a date but all the dates he sets me up with end up where the lady gets fucked and becomes a pain in the ass assuming I’m going to make them my wife which I’m sure is my grandpas doings much to my dismay.

I have to figure out a plan so I don’t have to marry or get a real girlfriend because I don’t want one, I realize we just arrived back to the office so I thank my driver and get out.
