If [Y/N] had thought things would turn out this way, she probably wouldn’t have left the house. However, it was too late, and there was nothing she could do about it. Truthfully, this day was shaping up to be just like any other for her. Although she usually didn’t like this whole „Halloween” thing, she’d let her friend persuade her to go to this one and only party.

„How stupid I was...,” [Y/N] said to herself, perching on one of the cemetery’s tombstones.

Still, she couldn’t really understand what had happened. Her memories were jumbled, but the pain throughout her body was absolutely real. So, how on earth was she „alive” when she’d heard the opposite? Although she couldn’t be one hundred percent sure of that either.

Was she actually alive, or was it the opposite of what she thought? [Y/N] couldn’t be sure of anything anymore, and that was what was killing her the most. She wanted to cry, but no tears flowed down her cheeks. Besides the pain, she felt no other change in her body. Which didn’t mean she could simply be a ghost now.

It was no wonder, then, that she had to touch the fingers of her right hand, or perhaps the tombstone she was sitting next to. Her delicate fingers touched the stone, feeling its rough surface. Whether it was cold or warm, however, she couldn’t tell. Her hand hadn’t passed through it, which meant she wasn’t a ghost after all. And therefore, she could breathe a sigh of relief that she wasn’t one.

„If I’m not a ghost, then what am I?,” [Y/N] muttered under her breath, pondering further what she could be.

Nothing, however, came to mind, as she still felt a certain emptiness within her. Some memories were still there, and others seemed to have vanished. It was a rather strange feeling, but she knew that soon everything would return to normal. It slowly began to dawn on her that she could have become a vampire or a zombie. That was the only thing that came to mind, which only added to the confusion in her head.

„I can cross zombie off the list, because if I were one, I wouldn’t be thinking about it now!,” [Y/N] remarked after a moment, realizing she wouldn’t be dwelling on the subject now.

She sighed heavily and began to wonder what to do next. She definitely couldn’t go home, she was one hundred percent sure of that! As far as her family was concerned, she was already dead, and she didn’t want to bother them. They’d also call the police, exorcists, and so on if they saw her on their doorstep. [Y/N] wasn’t happy about this, because her appearance made it impossible for her to wander the streets peacefully. She was also worried about the police picking her up and making her give up her family’s contact information.

„What am I supposed to do now?,” [Y/N] muttered under her breath, because she certainly couldn’t sit here aimlessly.

Sooner or later, someone would notice her, and that was something she wanted to avoid as much as possible. She sighed heavily again before turning her gaze toward the dark sky. The moon had been looming in the sky for a while, illuminating her lone figure. The confusion in her head was slowly fading, and memories were slowly returning to her. Which was good for [Y/N], but at the same time, they wouldn’t be of any use to her; they were useless. She remembered her name and how she’d gotten here.

„And yes, no one will believe me, because I still don’t believe it myself...,” [Y/N] said under her breath, because it was the truth, and she couldn’t help it.

No one in their right mind would believe that a vampire had saved her from death. After all, vampires don’t exist, so who helped her? With each passing moment, [Y/N] was growing more and more confused, and so far, she couldn’t see anyone who could dispel her doubts. She sighed again, slowly, losing track of time in this regard.

She slowly digested what had returned to her mind, because it was all too much at once. It seemed like it was supposed to be a party like any other. Or rather, it was her birthday party. No one expected what would happen some time later. She looked blearily at the tombstone with her name on it. She knew perfectly well that today was Halloween, the day she had been looking forward to so much.

„By the way, how did I end up at the cemetery, and who was in my place in the coffin?,” [Y/N] remarked after a moment, realizing that if she was here now, she couldn’t be there — she was one hundred percent sure of that.

Or the coffin was simply empty, or worse, they’d cremated a body that wasn’t hers. Either way, she couldn’t just get up and head towards her family home. Especially since she didn’t know which cemetery she was in. So there was no way she could just go back. Which meant, where was she supposed to be now?

It was a good question, because [Y/N] had no clue. Just when it hit her, five black creatures began to emerge from the darkness. For the moment, she couldn’t figure out who these creatures were. Because of the moon, as if out of spite, it had become covered with dark clouds that appeared out of nowhere. These clouds prevented her from seeing what was currently around her, due to the darkness.

„𝕀𝕥’𝕤 𝕒 𝕡𝕒𝕣𝕒𝕕𝕖 𝕗𝕚𝕝𝕝𝕖𝕕 𝕨𝕚𝕥𝕙 𝕓𝕖𝕒𝕤𝕥”

It was as if the moon didn’t want to reveal who they were at all costs. However, [Y/N] could tell that one of them was wearing skirts or dresses. Consequently, she couldn’t tell what they were wearing. Although the rest of them were dressed just as well, as she couldn’t figure out what they were wearing either.

„I guess I’m getting worse...,” [Y/N] muttered under her breath, hoping this was all a dream and she’d wake up.

Because words and sentences she didn’t understand at all began to flash through her mind. Especially since they weren’t hers at all! Yes, did [Y/N] stare with confused eyes, as these beings emerged from the darkness that enveloped them. The sight was almost too incredible for her to do anything about.

It happened too fast for her brain to register. Normally, she should have been afraid, but she couldn’t understand why. She felt as if she knew these beings and knew she had nothing to fear. So she didn’t move from that spot, just waiting for them to approach. She didn’t know why, but she knew that only they could answer the questions that tormented her.

„𝔼𝕧𝕖𝕟 𝕚𝕗 𝕀 𝕒𝕨𝕒𝕜𝕖𝕟 𝕗𝕣𝕠𝕞 𝕞𝕪 𝕕𝕣𝕖𝕒𝕞𝕤, 𝕥𝕙𝕖𝕪 𝕟𝕖𝕧𝕖𝕣 𝕖𝕟𝕕.”

„It couldn’t get any worse, could it?,” [Y/N] thought after a moment, as she had somewhat come to terms with her current existence.

Before the moon reappeared from behind the clouds, illuminating not only her but also those approaching her. At first, [Y/N] couldn’t quite see them, as if something was blocking her. Because of this, she could only see black silhouettes, growing larger with each passing moment.

She blinked a couple of times to make sure she was seeing correctly. She wasn’t one hundred percent sure about this, and it made her very nervous. She felt uncomfortable because she didn’t know what would happen to her next. She definitely couldn’t go home, so where was she supposed to go?

She watched as these dark creatures made of shadows drew closer to her with every passing moment. And the closer they drew, the more the darkness left them. Which, as everyone knew, was absurd, but it was the truth! [Y/N] had no idea what these creatures wanted from her. Which didn’t fill her with optimism, but there was nothing she could do about it. Now all she could do was wait for them to get closer.

„Maybe I can learn something from them?,” [Y/N] thought after a moment, hoping to get a word in edgewise.

The moon kept appearing and reappearing from behind the clouds. This gave it an even darker meaning than she had imagined. In complete silence, she watched to see what would happen next. Because she didn’t really know [Y/N]’s intentions. So she had to stay alert, which wasn’t as easy as she thought.

That was because she began to feel as if she’d seen these people somewhere before. But at the moment, she couldn’t remember where. Which irritated her even more, but she couldn’t help it. At first, they acted as if they hadn’t noticed her, absorbed in their conversation.

They were discussing something heatedly, but she no longer knew what it was. Although she had a feeling she was aware of what, or who, they were talking about. It made her shiver inexplicably. And a coldness spread through her body, one she couldn’t stop.

She slowly felt the urge to get up, run, and flee the place. Although she knew that doing so would only attract more attention. Therefore, it was better to stay where she was. With each passing moment, her mind was growing more and more confused, and she needed someone to answer her questions.
