Chapter 1

2 Months after Daring’s Fight With Vivir...

“It’s gonna get away!” Floof shouted frantically trying to get a shot at the deer. He didn’t want to tell her, but the bow wasn’t her weapon. Shaking his head, he quickly shot the ground beneath the deer’s hooves, trapping it in the ice, and allowing Floof to get the final shot. “Nice shot!”

Nightwing didn’t reply, focusing on getting the deer out of the ice. I shouldn’t have frozen it in place but I panicked. He looked around for a rock to shatter the ice, and then with the help of Floof, they carried it back to camp. It took them a bit, taking multiple breaks, but eventually, they made it.

“I trained you two well,” Fury approached them on the path. There was a mix of pride and satisfaction on his face.

“Yeah, right, I did exactly what I shouldn’t do, I used my powers on it,” He answered, ashamed to take his praise.

“And I’m not very good at using a bow,” Floof added.

“But you killed it, you did something right,” Fury added, “Let’s take it back to prep cabin then you two can rest up,”

“Yeah, rest,” Nightwing muttered under his breath, “that’s if Navy isn’t in the cabin too,” Thankfully Floof learned to stop talking every once in a while, if she didn’t, it would be unsurvivable.

“Just ask him to leave or be quiet,” Fury commented.

“Why can’t we move him to Neon and Blade’s cabin?” He asked.

“You know why. Putting Neon and Navy in the same cabin will have serious consequences, he always blames him for Brook’s death. As much as I want it too, we can’t have Neon shouting at him,”

“But Blade’s in there, he can’t keep things under control?” Floof added.

“Listen, I know how much you wanna be alone with each other,” Nightwing stopped, almost causing both of them to trip. He knew what Fury was hinting at. He stared at Floof before back at Fury.

“No!” She yelled before him.

“Why would you think that?” He added.

“I don’t know, why else would you both wanna kick Navy out of the cabin?”

“Can we just continue taking the deer back?” Nightwing interrupted. He felt uncomfortable about the conversation. He didn’t love Floof, he thought of her as more tolerable than Navy. She was the first person he interacted with when he first joined and she showed and helped him around. It was how it was before, and he didn’t want to change it.

They helped Fury take the deer into the cabin before heading off to their cabins to rest. Nightwing opened the door, relieved that Navy was out.

“Finally, we can get some rest,” He murmured.

“That’s a relief,” Floof yawned. She took her shoes off before climbing into her cot and he did the same.

“Do we even wanna discuss what just happened?” Nightwing started.

“What, the Fury thing? I wouldn’t let it bother you. Fury’s been doing it for a while now to me,” Floof replied.

“Yeah, surely that would never happen, right?”

She did the same, “Yeah, us, that would never happen,” They laughed for a moment before he laid back in his cot. Yeah, that would never happen…
