The Fall

- "...I am cold..." ... - "a cave...?" ... - "I... I'm only going to spend one night..." ... - "...and tomorrow I will find my home." Ruby entered the cave. She walked to where she thought the end of the cave was. She sat on the floor and leaned against the wall. The cave was very dark; it was not possible to see anything inside it, mainly because it was already dark and it was raining a lot. In an attempt to prop her head against the wall... Ruby fell into a hole. Her big hair spread across the soft bed of golden flowers. Her belly was hanging out because of the fall, and the flowers touched and tickled her belly. Due to the tickling, Ruby woke up. Disoriented, confused and tired, Ruby stood up and looked around. She didn't recognize that place. The walls were gray, cracked, some walls had vegetation growing on them; On the floor, it was possible to see more vegetation growing from it, as well as pieces fallen from the walls. Surrounding the bed of golden flowers were six pillars; two broken in half, three with vegetation growing on them, and one strangely intact. Beneath the bed of golden flowers, there was grass; Near the flower bed, there were also more golden flowers growing beside it. Ruby looked up; It was very dark, you couldn't see anything except the cracked ceiling. Ruby desperately looked around, trying to find some way to climb back up; she got out of the bed of golden flowers and a flower popped after Ruby stepped on it. Ruby was startled, but then ignored the sound. However, it seems that the sound attracted someone to the room where Ruby was. Ruby felt watched. Afraid, she turned around and came across a being that looked like a dog and a cat at the same time. The being's face was white, and it appeared to be flying; or it was simply a little loud. The being was wearing a hood, and the hood was almost covering one of the being's eyes. As soon as she turned back, the being "ran"; although he didn't appear to be running. She slowly walked to the corner of the room where she was, clenching her fists, ready to attack anything or anyone that tried to attack her first. She turned the corner of the room, bravely... and saw furry white hind legs, similar to that of a dog, quickly ascend the top step of an entrance at the end of the corridor, while the rest of the being's body disappeared amidst the darkness. darkness. She also saw a fluffy, white, furry little tail rising up next to the paws at the entrance. Over the corridor, it was possible to see that the place where Ruby was was abandoned or extremely poorly maintained. This would possibly explain why there are dogs/cats in that place, although that possible animal that Ruby saw was strangely clean. Ruby walked to the end of the hallway, more bravely than she was before, and came across a large, different entrance with a strange symbol above it. It was hard to see for her. Ruby went up the steps and came across a larger room. At the end of it, there was an entrance similar to the one she just passed through, except it was larger and had a hooded half-dog, half-cat being waiting for her in front of the entrance at the end of the room. Ruby squatted down a little, put a big smile on her face and raised her voice. - "Hi puppy! Or... kitten! Come here, come!" - Ruby called. At the same moment, the "animal" that was in front of her opened a smile and answered her-"I'm not a dog. I'm not a cat. I'm not an animal. I'm a monster." - replied... the monster. Eyes wide, not believing what she was seeing and hearing, Ruby jumped back, tripping on the steps behind herself. Falling to the ground, Ruby hit her head and almost screamed in pain, but muffled the scream with her hand; however, she removed her hand from her mouth as soon as she remembered that her glove was dirty. Just as she was about to get up, the monster that Ruby had seen appeared flying over her -"Are you okay, human?" - asked the monster.
