Summary

"Why Dead Kids?" Sandra frowned, fingers pausing over the keyboard as she glanced at me, waiting for my explanation. I sighed, "I choose Dead Kids because whenever society fails to box a certain aspect of people- whenever I'm myself, society watches me and it feels like I have a gun pointed at me head; like I'm a dead man walking."

Denzel Grayson frowned heavily as he worried his lower lip, wondering at what point he'd give his friends the slip.

He bounced his knee under the table as he studied his friends.

Stace King, who had his hair dyed green at the time smiled at him. "Penny for your thoughts, Denz?"

He shook his head. "I just really don't understand why we have to be here when school practically starts tomorrow."

Destiny gasped dramatically. "Who are you and what heave you done to my brother?"

Denzel smiled softly at her. "Still plain old Denzel who just wants to make valedictorian." "You'll only be in your junior year once, Zelly. How about you work hard, play a little-"

Stace cut Destiny off. "Laugh a little, live a little-" He then rose a brow at Skylar Baxter who looked up from her phone. "Love a little too."

Denzel shook his head once more, considering their words before asking Skylar what she was looking at.

The dark haired female grinned. "I'm watching the school online board for announcements on the leaders this year."

Stace bumped his shoulder as an announcement for the students to go to their classes was passed. "Think you'll make in the student council again?"

"I better or else I'll have to leave with you, Stace." "You won't get any work done if that happens."

Skylar pumped her fist and turned in her seat to face Denzel with a smile. Destiny rose a brow and held her hand out, receiving Skylar's phone. She reads what has her friend excited.    "Oh? Stace read this."

Stace nodded as he barely glimpsed at the screen. "Huh.Thats fascinating."

To Denzel's horror, Stace didn't hand him the phone but gave it to Skylar whose grin matched that of the Cheshire Cat. Denzel watched the other three exchange glances before Destiny sighed. "Sky's the new head of  the committee that handles the Principal's business."

Stace snorted. "Gossip from the source. The blackmail, I'll never get suspended."

Denzel frowned. "She won't let you be privy to that."

Skylar sent Denzel her breathtaking smile as her dark eyes glinted with mischief. "What are you going to do to me, Mr. Vice President of the student council, tattle?"

"Of course I'll be forced to tel- wait, Mr. Who? " Denzel processed her sentence before smiling. "I'm in the council in such a high position."

Skylar glanced at her phone. "Rumor has it that Noah Woods had asked for you to be his V.P."

Denzel ran his fingers through his blonde hair. "I've never spoken to Senior Woods before." "I have," Stace said with a smile.

Destiny rolled her eyes. "I don't even want to know."

Their homeroom teacher, Miss Daisy  walked in and instructed them to leave the class so she could assign them desk mates.

Denzel was speaking to Stace about he did over the summer when someone bumped into him.

"I'm terribly sorry about that."

Denzel turned, frowning when he realised that whoever had bumped into him rubbed the back of his neck. "I'm Augustus Waters and this is my best mate, Robin Arceniel."

Denzel stared at the white hair that sat at the top of his head before letting his gaze drift to the taller male who nodded at him in acknowledgement. The blonde cleared his throat.  It's nothing."

Augustus grinned, taking Denzel off guard. "I appreciate the forgiveness. Let's go, Robby."

Skylar rose an eyebrow as she watched the white haired male leave, dragging his friend behind him.Time to do a little digging.

"I want to go home," Denzel said with a frown. He smiled at his friends. "I'll see you around."
