"I adored this. Truth be told, this is the first story I've ever read on Inkitt, because I'm new here. I decided to look for some stories, hoping to find some inspiration and motivation, when I stumbled across this. It's good. I don't know about other readers/writers, but I like this kind of writing. Sometimes, I do not mind the lack of dialogue, or the long paragraphs and such. I liked the way you described the characters and I liked them myself. I, myself, am a rebel. Not a really bad one though, it's just that I like to push things when I want them to happen. I don't care whether or not people think it's good or bad. And Prose is like that. I like that she's a rebel because without rebellion, we'd all be robots just following the system and letting them put us down. Plus rejection is such a silly thing, isn't it? Sometimes, you don't even deserve it. So I applaud you for writing this! It's such a good read and I might even read it a second time when I feel like I need a little push to write some more. Thank you for writing such a lovely story."

Prose is me
"I am an Indie writer. Prose's plight is my plight. Plenty of people like my stuff, encourage me to continue my path but the powers that be don't agree. Prose's pain is my pain. There were plenty of days when I dreaded opening letters from publishers because I knew what they were going to say. However, I cannot fathom living in a world where three rejection letters meant you were completely out of the game. That would spell trouble, the masses would be subjected to publishers who have decided the reading content for the public. Kudos to Ms. Franklin for reminding readers that there can be award winning points of view not owned by traditional publishing houses."
"An amazing short story"
"This is a story of reaching for your dreams ,and not giving up!. The Characters are unique. Prose is a writer she wishes to have her hard work read " Tripping over poppies". Her friend Ink is worried that the publishers will hurt Prose with a rejection. Prose sends her Manuscript to the publishers any ways. The story then turns to the publishers. Edit is a plain Man who works for the publisher doing corrections on the writers work to make them so that they please the readers. Then one day the head reviewer calls him to his office ,and tells edit he is making him a reviewer. Edit is given a desk piled high with Manuscript's , a mountain of reading to do. But Edit is happy as all his has to do is read the Manuscripts no more corrections to have to do. He only reads them decides if they fail or pass and send them on for publication or reject letters. Edit picks one at random it is called "Tripping over Poppies" The story touches his heart , and he sends it on for publication. Next thing he knows he is being called into the Big Wigs office the Big Wig yells at him calling Prose's Manuscript rubbish! He threatens to let Edit go then changes his mind . Big Wig makes Edit take a letter to prose personally. When Edit delivers the letter he tells Prose he really did like her story , and had sent it for publication. Only Big Wig rejected it. Prose tells him she will not give up!. This is a story of determination and courage. It is a story to all the ones who dream of writing a message to not give up on your dreams!. This is a must read story!"

"This 'should' be far too clever. The story is a wonderful, satirical fantasy/fiction view of the writer's craft. It is due to Carol's craft and skill, that this tale becomes so enjoyable. Political comment is wrapped up with natural humour, and it flows from familiar territory, viewed through the characters actions, to an almost understated climax. Unique, and quite wonderful."

"What I enjoyed the most was seeing the writing process in reverse. Many times the author struggles with what to say and where to align the characters and situations. Then once done, the arduous task of submitting to publishers takes it toll in rejection after rejection. What if we saw the world from the eyes of the page? That is what makes this story special and unique. Wonderful style and imagination. Thank you for taking the time to put this piece together."

"I love it. It's a great story that sums up the writers world so very well. The main character is portrayed clearly, as well as all of the protagonists, antagonists. A very firm grasp was kept on the plot from start to finish, keeping it working along a clear line, and not running away out of control. With just a few words, and keystrokes, the author was able to convey a story of a world run by bureaucrats without heart or imagination, quashing the hopes of creative minds. Brilliant!"
