La camioneta blanca


A los siete años, solía escuchar a mi familia hablar sobre personas con dones especiales. Siempre me preguntaba cómo los obtenían. Mi madre y mi abuela afirmaban que eran regalos divinos, pero no entendía cómo eso era posible. Desilusionado por la respuesta, me retiré a jugar en el corredor de mi casa hasta que anocheció.


Durante la cena, pregunté a mi padre, quien sin levantar la vista de su plato, respondió que tampoco lo sabía, que era algo que Dios otorgaba a ciertas personas. Ya esperaba esa respuesta, así que no repliqué.


Cuando llegó la hora de dormir, las mismas preguntas me rondaban la cabeza: ¿Cómo se adquieren estas habilidades? ¿Cómo podría hablar con Dios para que me bendijera con esos dones tan especiales?


Después de unos minutos, comencé a adormecerme y tuve un sueño extraño y perturbador.


Soñé que estaba en la sala de mi casa jugando con mis juguetes, cuando mi madre me pidió que fuera a la tienda. Mi hermano, que entonces tenía seis años, tomó el dinero y propuso una carrera para ver quién llegaba primero.


Salí corriendo detrás de él, pero llevaba ventaja. Cuando cruzaba la calle, una camioneta blanca lo atropelló. Me quedé paralizado al ver a mi hermano inerte y ensangrentado.


Desperté sobresaltado y aterrado por el sueño. Salí de mi habitación y me senté en el sofá, cuando mi madre me pidió que fuera a la tienda.


Tomé el dinero, pero mi hermano se adelantó y salió corriendo, igual que en mi sueño. Asustado, corrí tras él y justo cuando estaba a punto de cruzar la calle, logré agarrarlo de la camisa y lo jalé hacia atrás. En ese instante, la misma camioneta blanca de mi sueño pasó a toda velocidad.


Mi hermano, sorprendido, comentó: "Ese tipo va a lastimar a alguien". Yo, aún asustado y agitado, le respondí: "Es mejor que tengamos más cuidado".


Una vez en casa, les conté a mi madre y a mi abuela sobre mi sueño. Ellas me miraron y dijeron: "Solo Dios sabe por qué hace las cosas, él te dio ese don".
