“Who is this?” The question came from a little boy about the age of 3. He found a portrait of a girl still being grieved by her family.
“That was Ashlyn. She was your sister. She got very sick and she’s not here anymore.” just as Averielle said that her sister Amberly walked by.
“Why are you and mom doing this? It’s not right to lie to him like that.”
“Aiden, why don’t you go find Mama?” The little boy ran off to go find the woman he knew as his mother.
“She wouldn’t want this Averielle.”
“Ash would want Aiden to be happy.”
“Not like this. You’re not his sister and that’s not his mother. Ashlyn would want her son to know the truth.”
“So you’re going to tell a 3 year old that his mother is dead?”
“No, I’m not going to lie to him though.”
“You’re going to hurt him. Don’t say anything.”
