Dream

He grew tired as he walked, so he stopped and sat down where he stood. The ground was a hard, red, and cracked soil. He took a deep breath and saw his surroundings. The air had a smell to it, it was pleasant, cool and clean. The hills had gotten closer so he knew that this was not just some illusion. The sky was a weird green. It was oddly beautiful. He had seen northern lights before, but this sky was not that - it was just the sky, as far as he could see, just green. And suddenly, he started falling back and just as his back was about to hit the ground...

Finn jerked up, wide awake. He was no stranger to waking up from this dream, but he was certainly not a fan of it. It was the third time he had woken up from this strange setting in this dream. The first time it happened was the previous week, where he felt tied to the ground and had a view of the sky. The second time was earlier this week, where he could walk around for a few seconds before he woke up. But now, he had walked for hours, and when he woke up, he felt tired. He had even pinched himself when he was walking, but he only felt the pinch, and did not wake up then.

"Was this lucid dreaming?" he asked himself, as he turned to his night table to check the time. 5:34 am. He was awake an hour and a half earlier than he intended to, but for some reason he felt wide awake. He got out of bed and decided to shower and start his day. As he stood in the shower and let the water hit him, he was still confused and lost for an explanation. This felt like a recurring dream, but if so, what did it mean? He could not recall any traumatic experience from his childhood or something that was bugging his mind from a recent time that could explain this strange sighting in his dream. Nonetheless, he decided to move past this and continue his day. He caught up on his TV show while having a sandwich. Although he had wished for more sleep, he felt perfectly energized. In fact, more energized than he did every morning.

"These new eggs must be that great" he chuckled to himself.

As he went back to his bedroom to get his bag, for the first time since that morning, his eyes met the floor and noticed something alarming. He touched it. Red soil. For a second, he froze, and then rushed to the washroom and grabbed the sweatpants he had slept in the previous night, from the laundry basket. On the rear, he saw specks of red dust.

His vision was not a dream. He had, indeed, been somewhere.

Ku_Rolet: The novel was good, and I really enjoyed reading it. I love the leads and their bond, but I have one question that confused me. How could Tristan have been dreaming about his mate since he was a child if Omara was already mated to someone else before him? If Kyle had accepted Omara, would Tristan ne...
