Chapter 1
It was getting dark, as it happens every day of course, and with this also the ‘allies’ separated after their meeting.
The youngest of the three, a young teen of medium height and dyed blonde hair was the first to ‘say goodbye’, in more ways than one. As soon as he approached the parking lot of the building where the group had gathered, one of the parked cars exploded.
The explosion covered up the car in flames, leaving behind the nearby cars and the young man who was just passing by as barely recognizable debris.
Only part of his remains had survived, as was the frame of his glasses.
-...A pity- The only girl in the group mentions, simply taking her umbrella as she always did, walking towards the street where she was going to leave.
-Kisaki, he, he is ---...You?...You did that?- It is the other boy who stops her, putting his left hand (tattooed with the symbol for‘Sin’) on the shoulders of the girl with the umbrella.
-Of course not Hanma...I don’t know anything about cars. I made someone else do it for me- The girl responds with all the calm and tranquility in the world, looking with her dull blue eyes at the boy with yellowish eyes.
-Very funny...- Hanma admits, though neither of them were laughing at the moment.
Hanma was a bit unpredictable, and it was obvious that he wasn’t all that happy, as the girl had admitted to killing Kisaki just a few moments ago.
Hanma’s left hand squeezed the girl’s shoulder a little tighter, and frowned at her, showing his sharp teeth.
-I really don’t mind if you kill me now, but I’d appreciate it if you didn’t. There is still a Toman to defeat- The raven-haired, blue-eyed girl mentions her, releasing Hanma’s grip with her delicate hand. He was still a little perplexed -I’m going to run away from the scene, you can come with me if you want or leave and not see each other anymore-
The girl just started walking, her escape not particularly fast. She had given her three choices to Hanma, and the boy soon made his decision.
Hanma didn’t have much of a problem standing side by side with the girl, they had sealed their fate from now on... -It wasn’t free, I made an agreement with one of the most important members of the Black Dragon gang-
-I see...- Hanma exclaims, maybe it was interesting.
-Do you think you could defeat Taiju Shiba, leader of the Black Dragon, for me?- The girl asks Hanma with a sweet and polite tone.
An almost-monstrous smile formed on Shuji Hanma’s face -Ohh, Takemichi...- The boy with the tattooed hands croons the girl’s name and looks a lot happier. Kisaki was dead, but his new partner was just as interesting, after all, it didn’t matter if Kisaki was around now or not.
It was clear that Takemichi would lead Hanma to the same fate, fighting the Toman, and perhaps some more interesting rivals...
Takemichi had been born a very weak and fragile girl, and her personality partly corresponded to this.
Too weepy, too weak to fight for herself.
Too weak to keep what was hers...
-Weak, weak, weak- Takemichi cries, hitting as best she can the chest of a boy much taller than her.
Dressed in Toman’s uniform, the boy tries to stop her but she cries, screams and for once in her life, fights like an animal.
She doesn’t do much, but she does leave some scratches on the boy’s skin.
-What did you want me to do?!- The boy reproaches, holding Takemichi’s wrists.
Both of their eyes are blank for a few moments, she because of her tears and he is angry.
Takemichi almost bit his tongue -That you told her no! That you won’t abandon me, like everyone else! Draken...-
He was a coward...
Somehow, at least part of Kisaki’s previous plans had failed.
Osanai had somehow failed in his attack against Haruki Hayashida (“Pah-Chin”) of the Toman’s third division, which seemed to delay the conflict between Moebius and the Tokyo Manji that Hanma had been waiting for.
This meant that the boy with the yellow eyes would have to wait in their hideout until further notice. Apparently Kisaki was for now interested in recruiting a certain Kiyomasa, who had been humiliated and expelled from Tokyo Manji when it was discovered that he was giving the group a bad name or something...
Personally, Hanma didn’t care too much about this Kiyomasa or if Kisaki recruited him or not.
His fight had been delayed, and that annoyed Hanma a bit, after all it meant that his boredom spread for more time.
-Hello?- A voice is heard through the door of the hideout.
Hanma can’t help but be a little confused, because he didn’t identify the voice, he was an unknown person.
More specifically a girl, Hanma thought that maybe she was related to one of the Moebius members (or Kisaki’s plan, somehow).
But at that time there was only Hanma himself in the hideout, so he just thought of getting her out of there.
Hanma walked in silence until he finally found the girl, who was no doubt a bit out of place in the gang’s hideout.
She wore a black shirt with white stripes, a blue skirt that went just past her knees, and carried an umbrella indoors. Her appearance was a bit more remarkable, she had extremely messy black hair, pale skin, and deep blue eyes, with minor dark circles.
The girl kept her distance from Hanma with her umbrella -Do you know Kisaki?- she asks.
-So what if I do?-Hanma asks, holding the tip of the umbrella in her hand.
He noticed that the girl was not very strong, but she did not let go of the umbrella.
-I just want to meet him- The girl affirms.
Even if she isn’t strong and obviously should be terrified, Hanma can’t see any sign of doubt in her, she doesn’t sweat or waver, she doesn’t tremble either.
-What do you want with Kisaki?- Hanma finally asks, though not really interested yet...
-Well... we have a common goal, more or less. I want to punish Draken and he wants him out of the way to get to the leader of Toman, right?- The girl answers the question simply.
Now they were speaking the same language, or at least a close one.
Hanma thought about it for a bit, he checked his phone and... the battery was dead.
-Mmm, my cell phone is a little indisposed at the moment so I have no way to communicate with him for now- Hanma tells the girl, it wasn’t an excuse, but it certainly complicated things...
-Then I’m going to stay here and wait here- The girl proclaims, extending her hand towards Hanma -My name is Takemichi Hanagaki- Finally she introduces herself.
How daring is she to just proclaim that she’s going to stay in the hideout like it’s nothing...
-Hanma, Shuji Hanma- The boy introduces himself, without any particular gesture towards Takemichi -But do you really think that’s a good idea? Do you know who you’re dealing with?- Hanma asks Takemichi, leaning a little towards the girl, who was of fairly average height (quite shorter than Hanma).
His yellowish eyes meet her blue eyes directly, but Hanma hadn’t found a prey -Yes…- Takemichi answers simply, a rather boring answer.
Hanma shows a little more of his teeth -And what are you going to do if someone gets too close?- He asks, trying to maybe scare her or get something else out of her.
-Pop his eyes with the umbrella- Takemichi answers with the same simplicity as before, as if it werethatsimple.
Hanma laughs, it was a crazy response from the girl, who seemed to not have the ability to even kill a fly.
-Okay, you can stay for a while, but I don’t promise anything...- Hanma proclaims -Only because you made me laugh once- The yellow-eyed boy adds, leaning a little closer to Takemichi, who threatens to poke his eyes with her fingers.
For now they do not come to anything, but it is the beginning of something... interesting.
