“What kind of... obsession?” My voice was careful, and I hated the way it wavered at the end and shut my eyes tightly in frustration.
“A woman. A girl." He spoke and I felt my heart race at the intensity of his voice.
So he’s in love with someone? That’s not bad... right?

“It’s the type of obsession that drives someone mad. At first I thought it was a desire but as it turns out, she was what I craved, day and night.”
“I would kill if anyone touched what’s mine. I have killed.” His last words made me falter, my body freezing in place.
“Pardon?” I asked cautiously.
“I thought you knew who the Marchetti family was, Father." His voice seemed proud, and somewhat accusing, as if he was mocking me.
Oh, if only you knew.
“I killed a man yesterday. His blood still stains the shirt lying in my room.” He said and I gulped, my hands visibly shaking as I clutched the skirt of my dress tighter.
“And why, pray tell, did you do so?”
“Simple, he looked at what was mine. My little farfalla."
“And how many have you... eliminated, till now?” I asked, hoping, praying, this was his first kill when a deep and icy chuckle reverberated in the small booth that ran chills up my spine as my knee bounced furiously.
“I lost count a long,long time ago.”
