Where Am I

Am I outside? No, I can't be. The trees are blue. And the grass is blue. And the sky is purple. I must be in someone's weird ass shit fucking house. That has to be what's happening. Right? Am I sitting down? I must be sitting down. But where is the center of gravity right now? Oh my fucking shit. Am I fucked up right now? No. There's no way I don't do drugs anymore. But why do I feel like I'm tripping my balls off right now? Where am I? Wait. Who am I? Oh fuck. I am fucked up. But how? I don't do that stuff. Wait. You've already established that. Quite being redundant. You are outside. Oh no. Outside is dangerous. I don't know about this. Oh my chest. Am I having a panic attack? Oh, no. This isn't good. Just calm down.

Where am I?

"You're here."

The woman gasped and put her hands over her mouth in fear. She looked around wildly, trying to find the male face of the voice.

"You don't need to be afraid. I was just passing by and heard your thoughts."

The woman began to shake. This is too much. Sober up now. Now. Now!

"I am not intimidating, ma'am. Look down."

She shook her head no and closed her eyes. Now!

"Oh, goodness. I want to help you. I'm a nice individual."

A nice guy? No. No. No, no, no! You have to sober up!

"Uhm. Why did me saying I'm nice make you uncomfortable? I don't understand."

"What's going on over there?" A female's voice said in the distance. "You bothering her, friend?"  The voice was closer now. "Give her a little room now. Your voice is reminding her of a past lover."

"Oh. I am sorry."

"Ma'am?" the female's voice said gently. "You really are safe here. Really. Would you open your eyes?"

The woman began to cry.

"Oh, no," the male voice said.

"It's okay. Let her cry it out. It's good to express one's feelings," the female said.

The woman cried until she could cry no more and the two voices remained silent. When the woman opened her eyes, squinting from the intense cry, she let out a sound of fear and scrambled backwards. She tried to push herself up from sitting to run and hide but felt glued to the ground. She closed her eyes so tight they hurt. Too much! Too much! She clutched the sides of her heads, digging her nails deep into her skin and began to rock back and forth.

"Let's take a different appearance," the male said.

"Something simple," the female voice said.

"I want a deep green!" The male laughed.

A green and purple light flashed. Two small balls of light, one a deep green and one a deep plum hovered just in front of the woman.

"Ma'am?" The purple light pulsed. "We apologize. We did not realize our appearance was unsettling to others. How is our appearance now?"

Newly found tears flowed heavily down the woman's face as she started to pull at her hair. I'm in Hell. That's where I am. I deserve this. I'm in Hell.

"You're not in Hell," Green said softly. "This is our home. And we find it quite pleasant."

"Oh, Love," Purple said even softer to Green. "We know you're scared and lost. We can help, you. What is your name?" she said to the woman.

The woman did not answer as she continued to cry.

The woman was awake. More awake than she had ever felt before.

What the fuck kind of shrooms did I eat? I don't

t even remember eating shrooms. I haven't done or taken any drugs in years. What is wrong with me? What is wrong with me? What is-

"Shrooms?" Green asked.

"Get out of my head!" screeched the woman an grabbed the side of her head again. There was an uncomfortable silence. Despite the woman's eyes closed tightly, she could still see a burst of green light, then a burst of purple light, then no light at all. After a few moments she opened her eyes to see she was in complete darkness. I hope they don't return. There was something, something, about them. She breathed out in relief, her fear starting to recede a small amount. I need get out of here. They said this was their home. Her mind flashed to the original physical forms they had taken and she clasped her hands hard onto her mouth. It's not real. It can't be. Nothing, anywhere, has that many eyes and teeth. Nothing. It's not real. Or...Her breathing heavied. It is real. And more reason to get the fuck out of here!

She pushed herself up and shakily stood. Her head felt light and she held her hand out, trying to keep her balance. She couldn't, and fell hard onto the ground. Ow! Ow! Ow! She touched her knees and felt the warmth of blood. "Well, fuck," she groaned. It's still pitch dark. How am I going to see my way out of here? I. ... I'm not. I have to crawl blind. She put her hands out in front of her and dragged the rest of her body until it righted into a crawling position. Her knees stung in pain as she forced her legs to cooperate as she slowly began to crawl.

With each step she crawled, a slight echo hit her ears. How is there an echo? She stopped and ran her left hand side to side finding she was not crawling in the blue grass but was instead on smooth rock. "What the fuck," she sighed. "I was outside. Where am I?" She felt the chill of the stone. Am I in a fucking cave?

No. No, no, no. Caves house wild animals. Nope, nope, nope! She turned herself around. No. I can't go back. Those-, she shivered, lights

might be back there. They said it was their home.

... I don't know what to do. No. Wait. She sat down, giving her knees a break. I was outside. Those colored lights flashed, and now I'm inside a cave of some sort, in pitch black. They sent me somewhere.

A cold chill coursed through her body. "Is-is someone there?" she asked the dark, hoping she wouldn't recieve an answer.

Well. Noone could say youre dumb, that's for sure.

"Who, who said that?" she squeeked. She strained her hearing, hoping to pinpoint the voices. They spoke in unison. Three of them? Three voices at once?

Me.

"Me who?" There was no reply. "Where are you? Are you, are you going to hurt me? How many are you? Are you going to hurt me?"

Hurt you? The chorded voice laughed. Of course not! But I would appreciate if you moved a little bit to the left. You're a bit too close for my comfort.

She scrambled away, disturbed someone had been so close to her.

Why, thank you. I do like my breathing room.

And you don't have to be so loud, please.

Loud? she thought.

Oh. Much better. Thank you.

The woman winced.

Oh. It's alright. Please feel free to continue on. Our feelings would not be hurt.

Her eyes started to tear. I don't know where I'm going. I don't even know where I am.

What sounded like a hundred voices all in unison, sighed in pity.

Why does your voice sound like that? Is that your voice? Or many voices?

It is mine. Does it... Bother you?

It makes me feel...

Small.

Yes.

There is nothing wrong with being small.

She felt under her the cool, smooth stone and breathed out. Closing her eyes on the darkness, she breathed in deeply and embraced the scent of flowers. She could hear water trickling and small droplets dripping into a pool close by. She was no longer scared.

May I, may I rest for a moment?

Yes.
