Eclipsed by Thunder: The Prelude to War
The city was a goddamn inferno that night. Bombs fell like rain, turning the streets into a blasted hellscape of fire and rubble. But amidst the chaos and destruction, there was one thing that kept me going: my little sister, Sarah.
Now, you might be wondering how a scrappy little bastard like me ended up in the middle of all this madness. Well, let me tell you, it wasn't by choice. But when your hometown gets turned into a war zone overnight, you don't exactly have a lot of options.
So there I was, Ali Cohen, street rat extraordinaire, trying to keep my shit together as the world went up in flames around me. And let me tell you, it wasn't easy.
The bombs started falling around dusk, catching us all off guard. One minute, we were minding our own business, and the next, it was like the whole damn sky was falling down on our heads.
I grabbed Sarah and dragged her into the nearest alleyway, hoping to find some shelter from the storm. But there was no escaping the chaos that night.
As the explosions rocked the ground beneath us, I held my sister close, trying to shield her from the horrors unfolding all around us. She was scared, goddamn terrified, and who could blame her? Hell, I was scared, too, if I'm being honest.
But in that moment, as we huddled together in the darkness, I made a silent vow to myself: no matter what it took, I would do whatever it goddamn took to keep my sister safe. Even if it meant staring death in the face and telling it to go fuck itself.
Because in a world gone mad, the only thing worth fighting for was the ones you loved. And I wasn't about to let anything happen to Sarah, not on my watch.
