pallor mortis
And just like that, I was ripped from my current reality, where everything turned black and cold. I couldn’t see. Somehow, this feeling was familiar, as if it wasn’t my first time. I have been here before.
I was pale as a ghost, as what I was becoming, and I could see myself from just above. My blood pools, as it has nowhere else to go, because my life was leaving this body behind; this shell, a beacon of what once was. I will miss this body, but I had somewhere else to be.
