Summary

Four kingdoms. One hunted girl. Powerful rulers want her dead, but destiny has other plans—plans that could burn the world to ash. A thousand years after the world burned, four kingdoms rose from the ashes—ruled by immortal monarchs and guarded by shadows, fire, and blood. Venya has spent her life on the run, hiding what she is: a Grim. Monsters like her are executed without mercy. Branded dangerous, haunted by a violent past, and bound by magic that cannot hold forever, she knows survival is only temporary. When she is captured and thrown into the heart of the Dark Kingdoms, Venya finds herself entangled in a deadly game of power, betrayal, and forbidden desire. The rulers of this world would see her destroyed, yet the King of Death sees something else in her—a weapon… or a weakness. As war brews and loyalty is tested, Venya must decide: Will she embrace the darkness within her? Or will she fight to prove that monsters can choose their own fate? Perfect for fans of dark fantasy, slow-burn romance, and morally gray characters—Dance of the Damned will pull you into a world where love is dangerous, survival is bloody, and destiny is damning.

Acknowledgments:

Hey everyone! I just wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the amazing people who contributed to the creation of this book. First and foremost, a huge shoutout to my wonderful husband, Orion Avery. He has been my rock, reading each chapter as soon as it's published and offering invaluable feedback and ideas. I can't begin to explain how much his unwavering support means to me. Without him, I would not be able to write about how it feels to be truly in love.

I also want to give a special thanks to my sister and best friend, Olivia Savage, and Alexis Garcia. I couldn't have written it without your feedback chapter by chapter. Your ideas and encouragement have truly made a difference.

Last but not least, a massive thank you to Rae Jackson, and Jasmine Clemenson  for beta reading through my book. Your keen eyes and attention to detail have helped me iron out spelling and grammar mistakes, identify plot holes, and ensure everything flows seamlessly. I am so grateful for your dedication and willingness to help bring my world to life on paper. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart!

Hi riabug222,

I just finished reading your story Dance of the Damned and I loved it so much. Your writing is amazing and I kept thinking how cool it would look as a comic

I really loved the moment in chapter four when Venya stands shackled before the Shadow Queen in the obsidian throne room The way you describe her defiance against those swirling dark auras would make for a visually striking opening panel I also loved the scene in chapter twenty-seven when she confronts the King of Death on the charred battlefield His skeletal armor gleaming under that blood-red sky and the tension as they circle each other would translate perfectly into an epic double-page spread

I’m a commissioned artist and I’d love to draw your story into a comic or manga No pressure though I just think your work would look awesome in comic form
