Chapter 1 heart break
3rd person's POV:
After getting promoted to the position of manager of the marketing team,Amber was excited to go home and tell her boyfriend. She got off of work early and drove down town to the best cake store and bought a cake.she drove to his house, stepping out of her car with the cake in hand and walked to the door, punching in the pincode, she pushed open the door and took only two steps in when she froze on the spot ,the cake dropping from her hands and her eyes filling up with tears.
"Joseph..."she said in a Shakey voice that was barely above a whisper.
Amber couldn't believe what she was seeing,she literally walked in on her boyfriend having sex with another girl in his living room and they seemed to be having the time of their lives seeing that they didn't even notice her in the room.she quietly walked out and got into her car where she cried for about ten minutes before finally driving back to the apartment she shared with her friend, Katherine. She walked into the house and found Katherine working on her computer she just leaned against the wall and let her body slide down.
"Hi Amber why are you back so early and what's that on your shoe's"Katherine asked as soon as she saw her friend sitted by the door hugging her knees.
"Cake."Amber responded flatly.
"Why do you cake on your shoes"she said as she stood up to go check on her friend.
"I got promoted today so i good off work early and bought a cake to celebrate with Thomas but i..... i found him having sex with another girl in his living room"she said and broke out into tears
"I know this is not the time to tell you this....but i told you i suspected that guy from the very beginning,you should start listening to me more often"
Amber just laughed and wiped away her tears. One of the reasons Amber loved living with Katherine was because she always knew how to lighten up the mood whenever something was wrong.
"Remember when you promised me that if you cried over a guy you'd pay me a hundred dollars"Katherine said with a wide smile plastered on her face.
Amber just rolled her eyes and grabbed her phone, as soon as Katherine's phone vibrated she stood up and pulled amber with her.
"Ok since i just earned a hundred dollars, lets go out tonight so that we can officially welcome you to the singles club"Katherine said as she went to the kitchen to grab a tub of ice cream.
"I honestly don't feel like going anywhere today, sorry"Amber said, spreading her body on the couch.
Katherine returned with the ice cream and pushed off Amber's foot from the couch to make room for her self ,which earned her a groan.
"You know the only way to get over a guy is to get under another guy, and its also one way we can celebrate your promotion don't you think so?"she said then stuffed her mouth with ice cream as she gave Amber a spoon.
"Yeah you're right,not about the sleeping with a guy part but about my promotion,i can't let one guy ruin my happy day. We are going clubbing tonight " Amber said and gave Katherine a high five.
