SHANKH; The island.
(Since the story takes place in an entirely different world, you may get doubts or confusions while reading, so I specifically added this chapter which explains more about the land where the story is about to take place.)
I'm doing minor changes, and connecting the characters to their true source; the myth which I skipped earlier. You'll be knowing more about Anka/Zane and his origin, where he came from.
There was this lonely little island in the Indian Ocean, surrounded by hundreds of miles of gloomy ocean, like a tiny smudge in the vast canvas of endless bluish gray.
With a rock-like surface, it barely stretched to 100 meters wide and was just an unappealing wasteland.
The shallow water surrounding the little island was crowded with corals, jellyfish, and perhaps lethal water snakes, making it hard for travellers to approach, supposing there were any.
There's nothing to admire either. At least—for the common eye.
An illusion, created to conceal something that should be hidden.
When the majority of the people were still lost in their dreamland, there was bustling commotion at the unreachable and unwanted wasteland.
It was the time of the new day, when the first ray of sun was illuminating the end of the horizon, separating the ocean from the sky with one fine golden line.
With chilling weather, nature was still tucked under the dark blanket.
An old cargo ship was sailing closer to that small wasteland. The noises of the crew preparing to dock the ship grew more and more.
And then—the ship slowly disappears as if it had been a mere assumption all along. Gone are the noises and the ripples on the water it created a while ago.
Vanished!
Not really; the ship had just penetrated the protective barrier. A portal to the hidden land beyond.
As soon as they enter the barrier, they will be greeted by a clear green sea that contrasts with the other part of the barrier.
The harbor was one spectacular view, with the backdrop of the heaven-like city that nevertheless values its culture. Culture that represents Indian or Indo-Greek, with the carved pillars, stones, and the Shikhar's of the temples.
The magical island has its own weather and timeline. The island's trademark, or the logo, a simpler version of the demon face, can be found around.
The picturesque island was dotted with sandalwood trees. Not the skyscrapers, but the two- or three-story structures.
The bustling town features historic palace-like architecture from Indian mythology with the traces of Greek culture.
Clean and well-established designs that might compete with the greatest cities in the world outside, yet each structure retains history and earthy tones.
A simple heaven; a land from ancient history.
The island was not always like this; it was once home to a tribe that lived there and worshiped Vasudha, the goddess of the earth, for ages, and also the demigoddess of islands, Dhara.
The island prospered after having its own guardian assigned by the goddess. Anka or Zane is a god-serving hybrid of human and demon. One who willingly escaped the realm of Rahu, the Asura, by destroying his captors, the heartless monsters.
The people are no longer tribal but rather civilized. Technology and education progressed alongside the outside world. People rarely left the land since it had all they needed.
The camouflaged treading was their sole link to the outside world. The island sold sandalwood, essential oils, exquisite art, and sculptures made from it for technological purposes.
A few supernatural beings on the island, such as enchantresses and good witches, forbade anybody from outside to enter. The island existed and prospered in its own way.
Zane was chosen by the goddess of earth to defend the island.
For generations, he carried out his guardianship duties, gaining the people's affection and esteem. But he is no longer a demon. A consequence for disobeying the law.
Nonetheless, people adored him. He's their king now. King Zane Black. As the generation progressed, his secrets and the island's history became restricted to a select few high families.
It is preferable that way.
Things have altered radically in his life, and he no longer has control over any events occurring in his life.
What's more, after thousands of years, the island will finally have its queen now.
Some of them recently saw Aksh, an angel-like being, and the islanders could not stop admiring her beauty. The sight of her angelic presence made everyone feel blessed. A perfect queen for their king.
Zane mostly lived in his temple, but for his queen he had built a luxurious chamber of her own: a small palace.
They would live separately!
Not really; he barely sleeps; he has his share of the tasks, as well as innumerable assignments from Divinity.
And she will not stand in his way; they are one soul with two bodies.
But she loves him, always did, and he went to great lengths to return it.
The enchantress, a good witch named Nida (Nishida Ma Nida), is watching after him and his other half, his angel Aksh.
Another witch, Varna, served as her apprentice.
Shinom serves as the island's priest. Marina, his wife. And Kira, their adorable daughter.
Revathi, the doctor. And the jury of high heads.
Regardless of how cultured they were, they followed tradition, just like their king.
Hey everyone 💕
I am back with the second book in the REDEEMED series, ANCHORED.
I genuinely apologize for the book's delay; it took longer than expected. The story is way complicated, full of twists and turns and bone-chilling moments to cute and hot scenes.
Disclaimer: This work of fiction is completely the author's imagination; any resemblance to actual events, locales, or persons, living or not, is entirely coincidence.
No part of this story should be reproduced, distributed, or transmitted in any form by any means, including photocopying or recording or other electronic or mechanical methods, without the author's permission.
The cover picture belongs to their respected owner. I do not claim it.
Aksh is a mystery girl whose existence was not preordained by fate. She was just an accident. Not only did she survive, but she also possessed something dangerous and powerful without her asking for it. In return, she endures the punishment for a crime she did not commit.
Zane: A hybrid, a half-demon, half-human who rejected his kind and lived under Divinity for thousands of years. He was only allowed there with an unbreakable vow.
She wasn't part of his world. Hell, she has nothing to do with him. One bold move, another violation of a rule, and then come the consequences he wouldn't even dream of.
Fates had been entwined, trapping them for eternity. She became the unplanned baggage he had to carry. An anchor to his ruthless and aimless soul.
I hope you enjoy the story as much as I did while writing it. I would love to know what you think of the story. Please provide helpful input about it.
Have an incredible week, guys. 💕
