Chapter 1: Joining the Clan
It was a chilly December day, and Mia was busy scrolling through her phone while sitting on the veranda of their house. Christmas was just around the corner, but she felt like something was missing in her life. Since moving to a new town, she hadn’t made any new friends, which made her feel lonely and isolated. As she browsed through social media posts, she came across a group or “clan” that offered young people the chance to meet and chat with one another. Curious, she decided to join.
Scene 1: Joining the Clan
Mia (Excitedly typing on her phone):
“This clan seems interesting. It looks like there are a lot of cool people here. I’ll go ahead and join.”
After joining, Mia was flooded with messages from various members of the clan. Most were introducing themselves and asking about her—where she lived, what her interests were, and other personal details. Mia felt excited because so many people wanted to befriend her. However, among all the messages she received, one stood out. It was a simple yet intriguing message from a member named Jesse.
Jesse (Typing a message to Mia):
“Hi Mia! Welcome to the clan! I’m Jesse, and I hope you enjoy it here.”
Mia (Smiling as she replies, hoping this is the start of a new friendship):
“Hi Jesse! Thanks for the warm welcome. This clan seems fun. How are you?”
Jesse:
“I’m doing well. I’ve been in this clan for a while. It’s great, especially when you have people to talk to. I hope we can be friends.”
This simple exchange of messages sparked a connection neither of them expected. Little did they know that in the days to come, their simple introductions would mark the beginning of something special.
