The baby Girl
It's raining heavily when Flora stepped out of her little Jeep. She was devastated,losing a child was the last thing she thought she would pass through, and to make matters worse, James, her 5 years boyfriend, could not even accept the child even after she was born.
Her mother insisted she stayed back at the hospital until the body is released to them, but she didn't see the need to wait for a child who couldn't breath any more.
She entered her mini house she bought six years ago, all drenched from head to toe. She walked into her bedroom and took a towel to clean herself. All this time, tears couldn't stop falling out of her eyes as she recalled the cries of her little Mabel.
"Knock,knock." Who could that be in this heavy rains?Flora thought.She moved to open the door only to find a man getting into a taxi, leaving a box in front of her house.
Flora's POV
"Hey!" I shouted, but the taxi had already left. What could be in the box? I wondered. I moved closer to the box, and I heard noises in the box, and then I was terrified.What could this be? A snake, oh God ! I opened the box in the rain only to find a beautiful baby girl crying her heart out. OMG, who could be this heartless.
I took her in my arm and I couldn't stop gazing at how beautiful she was.
I took her in, wrapped her in my towel , and slept peacefully.
She was beautiful and I couldn't understand how some parents could be so wicked to leave their daughter in front of someone's door. Should I call the police? No, if I do, they'll take this innocent child to an orphanage, and who knows how bad her life would turn out.
I took my phone and called my mum instead of the police;
Mum: Dear, are you ok? I hope you're fine. Hope you've also eaten.
Me: Mum, I'm fine, can you please come to my place quickly?
Mum: What's wrong dear is everything all right?
Me: Yes, everything will be all right (I smiled lovely at the sleeping baby)
Mum: I'll be there in a few minutes
The call ended. I got up and went into Mabel's room to look for a dress for this lovely angel.
I found the perfect dress for the baby.
In no time, my mother arrived looking terrified."Mum, I thought I told you that I was fine." I said, giving her a deadly glare."I know I just couldn't stop worrying you just lost....am sorry I didn't mean to remember.."My mum said, and I cut her off by telling her I was fine.I went into the kitchen to get her a glass of water and settled by her side in the living room.
Exactly i opened my mouth to talk,the little angel left out a loud cry announcing her presence to my mum. "Was that a baby?" my mum asked, getting to her feet.Before she could say the next things, I pushed her towards the room the baby was sleeping in. She had returned back to sleep.
When my mum's eyes landed on the baby she couldn't help but smile lovely at her.Ofcourse the little angel was cute to the extend that anyone who set eyes on her could fall inlove with her right away. I'm keeping her mum." I found myself saying the words I didn't actually mean.
Wait! I meant my words.I am keeping her, and I'll surely keep her.
Mum: Who is this lovely baby? Where did you get her from? And what do you mean by you're keeping her?(My mum started throwing her many questions)
Me: calm down mum,first I mean am not gonna give her up for adoption and she's gonna take my baby Mabel's identity.Two,I found her right infront of my door after I came back from the hospital in the rain that means I've been given another chance in life with my lovely baby. Finally, Mabel Londen is alive.
I said calmly. I wouldn't miss the fact that she was looking at me like a crazy woman, which I agree am a little crazy with the situation at hand. You're crazy. My mum finally found her voice. What about Mabel's body?" she asked an important question.
Listen, mum, I'm going to keep her, and that's that." I said firmly, and she rolled her eyes, but I knew that she got my back through thin and thick. Moreover, she loved the baby.
After my father died at the age of nine, my mum has been supportive throughout after getting a jerk and useless boyfriend, and him abandoning me, she has been supportive. I smiled at the baby, and my mum picked her up and started humming a song for her.
In London(the same night)
I can't lose my daughter again, Tiago."Lauren couldn't stop crying its been three days since their daughter disappeared, and anytime she remembered being attacked and her daughter taken away, the pain resurfaced.
When the detective walked in, there was no hope in his face.We haven't found anything, Mr Vendias."the detective said to the mafia with fear in his eyes.Do you know why you're still alive?"the mafia asked the detective.The detective viciously nodded his head.Good now before I lose my temper like I lost my daughter ,live before you leave here cripple. And you.."Turning to his wife Lauren.You better yourself together.I can't believe you're so careless."Before his wife could say something or give an apology like she has been doing he left the room.
Lauren landed on the floor in tears.She hadn't just lost only her daughter but she knew from now onwards she had lost her man too and if she didn't stand strongly she could lose her marriage too and she wasn't ready to lose all that. I'm going to fine her I swear" she said to her self.
