Chapter 4

Chapter Four

Visitor

When I get home the house is silent, so I just run up the stairs and change . My room is pretty big, but it is currently a mess. I run back down stairs and begin to start supper. When supper is ready, it's about 7:25, and mom should be getting home soon, so I decided to do a little research about what it means to be relevant, and by the time my mom gets home I have found out that relevance are also considered like vampires. Which only leaves me with more questions.

“Ava, I’m home,” my mom yells from downstairs.

“Coming mom,” I say, running down the stairs. We eat in silence for what feels like an eternity. When dinner is finally over, I clean up the kitchen, and head upstairs to go to bed. I finally fall asleep, to the sound of light rain hitting my window.

I awake to the sound of knocking on my window. At first I just think it’s the rain, but when I open my curtain I see a smirking Andras.

“What are you doing here?” I ask, glancing at my door to see if it's open, it’s not.

“I’m just here to hang out,” he says, looking offended.

“You can’t be here, you’ll get me into trouble,” I say, getting nervous that my mom will burst into the room at any moment.

“Soooooo, I’ll just blame it on me,” he says, sitting on the bed and scooching closer to me.

“I’ll tell her that you were trying to hurt me if you don’t leave,” I say, as he continues to get closer, making me nervous.

“And what if that's true,” he says, continuing to smile at me.

“Then I’ll scream at the top of my lungs,” I say, about to run out of my room screaming, when all of a sudden he burst out laughing. I jump out of the covers and put my hand over his mouth. He stops laughing and is now smiling really big.

“What is so funny now,” I ask.

“Like the outfit Ava,” he says, his eyes sweeping my body. I look at what he’s staring at and see that I'm in a long t-shirt and no pants. I quickly jump back under my covers, and just glare at him.

“What I can’t help what my eyes are seeing,” he says, still smiling, and with that he gets off my bed, walks over to me and bends over and places a quick kiss on the corner of my lips, and then disappears out my window. I fall asleep again, but this time wondering why Andras just Almost kissed me.

I awoke the next day to my mom screaming for me to get up. I glance at my clock and see that I have slept in. Now it is 7:30 am, and I was supposed to be up by 6:30 am, and now I only have a half hour to get ready for school. I quickly grab my favorite t-shirt, and jeans, and dash down the stairs. My mom sits at a bar stool eating her breakfast.

“Honey, make sure you take breakfast,” my mom says, looking up from her food.

“Okay, mom,” I say, grabbing an apple from the counter. I’m walking to school when Adras stops his truck beside me.

“Why is it that everytime I see you walking to school you have an apple?” he asks.

“I just like apples,” I say, recalling last night when he Almost kissed me.

“Oh, well do you want a ride to school,” he asks plainly.

“No, and why did you Almost kiss me?” I ask, trying not to blush, but failing as a hint of heat forms on my cheeks.

“I Almost kissed you to show you a hint of what you would be missing if you were to start crushing on Kerian,” he says, smiling.

“Okay, what about all the hot girls that are crushing on you?” I ask.

“Well since you're hot, I guess if you were to start crushing on me then you would be one of those girls,” He says, smiling.

“Weird way of complimenting me but okay, thanks I guess,” I say, trying not to blush.

“You're welcome, so do you want a ride or not?” Andras asks.

“Fine,” I say, hopping in the car. We ride in silence until we get to school. We are parking when I notice a crowd of girls huddled around someone. We jump out of the car and run to where all the girls are standing. When we step around the crowd to get a better look we see what all the girls are looking at, and I see another new person, and this time it's a hot girl.

“Who’s that?” I ask Andras, whispering.

“Her name is Mara,” Andras says, blushing.

“Why are you blushing?” I ask him, making myself sound jealous.

“Because I kinda know her, and umm. I’m just going to say it, she’s my ex-girlfriend,” He says, sighing.

“What! I thought you liked me?” I say, sounding offended.

“I never said that,” He says, “ I bet you were hoping though, he says, smiling.

“No, I hope Kerian likes me, he's totally hotter than you,” I say, trying not to laugh.

“You are not falling for Kerian, are you?” He says, seriously.

“Maybe maybe not,” I say, starting to walk away.

“Wait Ava, I’m sorry it's just I’m not quite over her,” He says, sighing again.

“Yeah whatever,” I say, walking away.
