A love so pure and rare. A love that’s been protected for eons because of it’s immense power. Nothing has ever tried to destroy it but envy can be a potent motivation to end something so magical and profound.
This saddened both the Severoy and Chase bloodlines. They were aware that the Richard bloodline had vowed to end the powerful alliance between them and had actually succeeded. However, the Severoys refused to accept defeat. Especially because they knew that the Richard bloodline weren’t pure.
The only thing they wanted to gain was the elite position above all bloodlines. The one that belonged to the Severoys...
Supreme Royals.
Position, power and supremacy was never the interest of the Severoy and Chase bloodline. Nobility, class and sophistication were the things they were known for even if they were powerful and supreme. The Severoys were adamant on protecting the love they had for the Chase bloods.
Brayzin Severoy knew it would be a mistake to awaken his ancestors to seek guidance and council. They were too powerful and ancient for the modern age. Even Nixon Chase knew that such a move would unleash the greatest wrath the world had ever seen.
They stood in front of the heavy shielded metal doors of which the ancients laid beyond. It was dark and damp. Cobwebs were prominent in the underground cemetery of their royal bloodlines. It was proof that no one dared visit the place. It held too much secrets and powers.
Brayzin looked at the door with fire torch in hand. He breathed heavily as he placed his free hand on the handle. Nixon saw his uncertainty and tried to persuade him for the last time.
“Listen Brayzin, we have to deal with this ourselves. To awaken them just isn’t wise. Yes I know what we’re facing is an impossible situation but I know there is a way. There always is.” Nixon told Brayzin.
Brayzin’s cold vampire heart thudded. He let out a nervous sigh and removed his hand from the handle. He turned and looked at Nixon.
“There has to be another way.” Nixon said in conviction.
“Nix, how are we supposed to deal with this big problem? It’s far greater than anything we’ve ever faced.” Brayzin said in doubt.
Nixon pulled Brayzin away from the door.
“Waking them up would be a problem far greater than the problem we have on our hands.” Nixon warned.
“He’s right you know.” Maxine answered.
Nixon and Brayzin was shocked to see their long lost friend. Nixon was more shocked than Brayzin because Maxine was his sister and he thought she was dead. Nixon didn’t have the words to describe his emotions.
Brayzin threw his hand in the air.
“Look whose alive. Where were you and how could you abandon your bloodline and responsibilities so easily?” He asked.
Maxine could only look at Brayzin and Nixon with regret clear in her gaze.
Maxine was as beautiful as always. Her hair was in her usual hairstyle, a ponytail. She wore tight black leather clothes as always. Nixon sensed that something about her was broken and different. He could tell that she had been through alot.
“As you can see I have bigger things to deal with right now than to be mad at you Maxine. I’m just glad you’re here.” Nixon told her.
Maxine hardly heard her brother’s words. Her concern was Brayzin.
“Brayzin, there is another way. We just have to find it. But waking them up is not one of those ways.” She said.
Brayzin looked at the door and agreed that he felt safer with his ancestors asleep. He looked at Nixon and Maxine and nodded.
“You’re right. There has to be another way.” He said.
Nixon looked at Brayzin with great concern.
“I know that you’ve been entrusted with the bloodline’s succession but don’t let this get the better of you. You’re stronger than this and we’re here.” He told his friend.
Brayzin sighed. He was very afraid. Not for what his ancestors might do if their bloodline lost it’s position but for what might happen between Tiana and Blake. The vampire and witch that were core to both the Severoy and Chase bloodline.
Brayzin walked past Nixon and Maxine. They followed. He was in deep thought and didn’t see a solution.
I don’t know how Blake could’ve lost his memory. What I do know however, is that the Richards have something to do with this but I can’t accuse them without any concrete evidence. How the hell could this happen!
Maxine looked at Brayzin from behind and saw that his body hadn’t changed one bit. His fears worried her because he wasn’t one to ever get afraid.
“Brayzin word was that Blake was born without the Chase memory mark. How’s that possible?” Maxine asked.
Brayzin snorted.
“Do you think I’d be down here if I knew?” He asked in agitation.
Maxine was shocked at his tone.
“He’s pressured. Try to understand.” Nixon told his sister.
“Listen here Brayzin just because things are rough right now doesn’t mean you get to be cold with me.” She said.
Brayzin gently pinned Maxine against the wall.
“What would you know since you’ve always ran when things got difficult? Unlike you I have a backbone and the way I see it, I don’t have to be warm and welcoming towards someone who abandons her own daughter!” He told Maxine.
Maxine felt the sting of Brayzin’s words. Her eyes teared up as she let her head down in submission.
Nixon didn’t want anything to do with Maxine or her life because she always had a way of disappointing him. He didn’t want any more disappointments. However, he did feel for Brayzin who had to be mother and father for their daughter. It left the Severoys displeased even if Brayzin weren’t their biological blood. They still treated him like their own.
“You two have things to talk about. I’m going hunting for magical supplies.” Nixon said as he disappeared out of sight.
Maxine looked Brayzin deep in the eyes and saw how lifeless they were. She regretted leaving him.
“Brayzin I’m sorry.” She apologized.
Brayzin raised a brow.
“Save it for someone who gives a fuck and you don’t have to worry, our daughter is dead. It never survived the first week no matter how much me and our bloodlines tried to save it. That’s something you’ll have to live with and something they haven’t forgiven you for. I however, will make you atone for the pain you have caused me.” Brayzin told Maxine in warning.
He walked away and left Maxine in fear and in shock. She could only follow him and do everything he wanted her to. No matter what it was. Regardless of this, she still wanted to help him.
“I want to see baby Blake.” She told him.
He nodded as he ascended the stairs towards the bloodline’s palace. He waited for her before opening the door.
“Don’t expect me to defend you against my family.” He told her.
She looked at him in fear.
“You don’t have to.” She said.
Brayzin opened the door. They were in the palace library. He placed the fire torch on the hook next to door against the wall. He led her through a secret passage towards baby Blake’s room. He wasn’t going to defend her but he wasn’t going to offer her to his family for them to tear her apart.
He placed his hand against the secret door and sensed what was on the other side.
Only the baby...
He pushed the door open and let Maxine walk in. He looked at her and couldn’t help but desire her in more ways than one. Deep down he still loved her.
Maxine quickly went over to Blake. She gently looked for the Chase memory mark but couldn’t find it. As she did, she had a vision of how Blake lost his memory. It shocked her but also gave her hope. She looked at Brayzin and smiled.
Brayzin narrowed his eyes.
If she smiles like that, it has to be good...
Blake laughed at the smiling Maxine.
Brayzin sensed someone approaching.
“Max let’s go.” He said.
She softly ran to Brayzin. He closed the door behind them. She kept looking at him and smiled.
“There’s hope and we do have time. The Richards traveled back in time at the very beginning of when the Severoy and Chase bloodline union started and undid it.” She said.
Brayzin couldn’t believe his ears and frowned.
“The Severoy and Chase bloodline never met. They made sure of it but thanks to the Chase bloodline and their magical blood, Tiana still remembers. If she remembers then there’s hope.” Maxine told Brayzin with optimism.
Brayzin rushed to baby Tiana’s room with Maxine hardly keeping up. He left the secret door open for her. She rushed inside baby Tiana’s room and saw a smiling Brayzin. He looked at her and nodded.
“It’s here. The mark. It’s on her body.” Brayzin told Maxine in hope.
He let out a sigh of slight relief. He knew they were far from uniting Blake and Tiana but he had hope.
Nixon rushed inside and hugged baby Tiana.
“That’s our little witch princess. Who’s a powerful little vixen? You are. Yes you are.” He played with her.
Maxine and Brayzin looked at him.
“Sorry Maxi I was kind of eavesdropping on your mind.” Nixon apologized.
Maxine smiled.
“With news like this I don’t mind.” She said.
Brayzin looked at Maxine. He opened his arms for her. She rushed towards him and into his arms.
“You’ve earned my protection against my family but you still have a long way to go with me. I haven’t forgiven you yet.” He told her.
Maxine looked him in the eyes.
“I’ll do anything and everything even if it takes all my life to show how sorry I am.” She admitted.
