Ace of spades—why so rude?
Shuffle the deck, let’s see who’ll rule.
Underneath the twilight, tables turn late;
Ace of spades mumbles tales of fortune and ill-fate.
Followed by the activity, secrecy is reigned;
Hollow and whole, shallow and straight.
In the stillness of evenings, umbra silently sweeps,
Dreams that wandered in the eyes, they keep.
In the silhouette of the chance’s hand,
Ace of spades of roulette—grand.
Ace of spades tells tales untold;
Of fortunes kept and fortunes sold.
Ace of spades, what to reap?
Sowed nothing, vows kept in heed.
The walls where gambling resides,
Both despair and triumph abide.
The gambler’s heart, what an abusive beast,
Guards what the seeker seeks.
With every shuffle, a bet so zeal,
Luxurious, splendid, and a majestic seal.
A symbol, rich, designs a fate,
With threads of loss or gain innate.
With each card drawn, the specter sees,
What’s wanted or what’s a useless seed.
With every move, a story spun;
If belittle happens or belittling is done.
What are you? Ace of spades, both cruel and kind?
Or are you the reflection of the truth we care to find?
The game is the first or the last one on,
The chance; to lose, to going on.
