Summary

Set in 2002, Dylan L. Snelling's writing debut "The False Paradise" tells the story of a news journalist from Boston named Matthew Heathers, who is one day sent on a mission down to the coastline of Miami, to investigate a sinister island that has mysteriously appeared out in the waters. Whilst writing the story, author Dylan L. Snelling got the idea for the island-disguised sea monster that serves as the novella's central antagonist, at least partially after being inspired by the monsters created by the legendary sci-fi horror author H.P. Lovecraft. Ebook ISBN: 979-8-234-02315-5

Prologue

The following story you are about to read is one of love, passion, commitment, regret, and horrors beyond your wildest imagination. We will be focusing our attention on a young man named Matthew Heathers, who in 2002, after growing to become a fairly successful investigative journalist, would end up taking on an investigation from which he would never return from.

As you proceed to dive deeper into the pages of this tale, you will learn all you need to know about what happened to him, and his encounter with a horrifying and sadistically evil sea creature. One which has evolved over a very long period of time, to take on the appearance of a beautiful tropical island floating just off the shores of largely populated areas, for you see, it used this clever disguise to lure in its favorite type of prey. Unsuspecting, seafaring humans.

Or, in our stories case, a well meaning investigative journalist.

But before we get to the horrors Matthew faced on the island, we must first take a step back in time, to the events that would shape his career path, and thus would eventually lead to his nightmarish demise on ‘The False Paradise.’

Finally, I must plead with whomever is reading this, to heed the warnings inked throughout these pages. If you ever look out at the water one day, and you find yourself looking at an island that you swear was never there before, whatever you do, you must never go to it.
