Prologue
The world was born of three powers.
The Heavenly Emperor, Solmir, forged from order and light, crowned the heavens, and ruled the stars.
His brother Adrien, the God of Death, born of silence and stillness, walked the still rivers of the dead.
And Eris, the Goddess of Chaos, the child of light and shadow, moved between them, restless as storm and fire.
Chaos and Death loved one another. From their union, life began. But the Emperor feared them.
To protect his throne, he tore them apart—casting Eris into the mortal realm and chaining Adrien in the Underworld, stealing even the memory of her face.
Betrayed by the king she served in the mortal realm, Eris died in anguish. Her soul should have risen to judgment, but the
bond between her and Adrien pulled her down into his silent realm. There, his blood gave her new life, reborn as the Goddess of Chaos.
Now heaven trembles. For if Chaos and Death should find each other again, not even the stars will endure.
