The ghosts of the woods

It was a warm autumn evening. The wind was blowing slightly. The air had a crisp feeling to it. I was walking home with my crush sammie her beautiful blue eyes shined in the setting sun, Her blonde hair blew with breeze I couldn't help but look at her in awe.

But i had to quickly pay attention to the trial ahead because we were in the woods walking home no telling what dangers lurk near by waiting to strike. We were talking about the day we had at school and how were so glad it was finally Friday. Her smile was warm and comforting i couldn't help but smile back at her. We stopped and looked at the setting sun the we looked at each other and smiled.

Hey Millie is it ok if i ask you something? she said in a soft voice.

''Of course Sammie you know you always can.''

So how did you get your nickname Tiger i heard your mom and the neighbors call you that before.

''Well it's a long story but a incident happened a year ago that made me earn my nickname I'll explain it to you when we get home because I don't like being out here talking about it. I'm afraid it may happen again. I looked down at the ground thinking about the incident that happened that year.''

Well if it's ok with you can I call you Tiger she says in a really soft spoken voice.

''If you want to you don't have to it's entirely up to you.'' I look up and softly smile at her.

But what do you say we get home so we can have supper and you know talk maybe play a few games.

Sounds good to me she said and softly smiled.

As we continued walking down trail we heard footsteps behind us we turned around but saw nothing probably just our imaginations playing tricks on us but when we turned around we heard them again but closer the hair on the back of neck stood up i mouthed don't turn around then we heard a female voice say run and never look back.

I said well you heard her let's book it.

Agreed she said then we ran and didn't look back. 2 minutes later i heard a loud thud i look beside me and Sammie was on her side i ran to her said are you ok?

She said i twisted my ankle. i could tell she was in pain i said here let me pick you up and I'll carry you.i picked her up and said hang on tight we'll be home soon then i heard the voice again this time more terrifying and the voice said run and never stop till you're home.

I ran as fast as my legs could go i could still hear her voice from behind but i ignored it and kept running till we got home
