Summary

Grayson Marshall has spent his life battling demons, both in his mind and his past. Diagnosed as bipolar and burdened with a history of issues since childhood, things spiral out of control when a night of drinking leads to a DUI. To avoid jail time, his father, Robert Marshall, a powerful but troubled lawyer, sends him to a psychiatric facility for a 72-hour evaluation. What starts as a short stay turns into something far more permanent, and Grayson soon finds himself facing not just the system but his own fractured mind. Inside the facility, he meets Ronan Blackwell, a fellow patient with his own dark history. Despite the rules against forming personal connections, Ronan becomes Grayson's ally, helping him navigate the chaos within and around him. The greatest battles are fought inside the human mind. Will Grayson emerge victorious, or will his demons claim him?

Unhinged Mind

Thank you for giving my story a chance. I hope you enjoy it!

Constructive criticism is always valued as long as it’s phrased respectfully. Also, the updates on this story are not on a schedule and may be random.

I was unable to have the layout of the images and words on Inkitt in the same way that I had it on Wattpad. So, I just took screenshots and pasted them. If it looks a little weird, just ignore it.

I have taken great care in researching bipolar disorder and other mental health conditions to ensure they are portrayed as accurately, appropriately, and sensitively as possible. My goal is to offer an honest depiction without any harmful stereotypes or offending anyone. While this is a work of fiction, I will continue to strive for thoughtful and respectful representation of mental health struggles.

This story could be triggering to some. There will be sensitive topics and dark humor. So, if you think that’s not for you, then I suggest not continuing further.

Credit: I first saw this idea of the epigraph, dedication, and aesthetic in another writer’s work on Wattpad. I’ve lost the story, but if I find it, I will provide proper credit.
