Prologue

Love is a beautiful thing--at least it was.

The price is heavy and the cost it dear.

The risk is ever-present and the promises are made.

When it is there, it fulfills you. When it disappears, it leaves you empty.

You can't doubt love. The only doubt worse than doubting your partner is doubting yourself.

The price is heavy and the cost is dear.

It brings you to new heights with promises and possibilities.

And when it's gone, you fall deeper than the ground you once stood upon.

The price, heavy; the cost, dear.

Shallow, it remains uncertain. An ending is bound to happen.

Deep, it becomes an arduous path. An ending is something you try to prevent.

Young, it blooms, quickly growing and the potential is seen. The ending is put out of sight.

Bonded, the growth slows, everything seems to have aged and new things slowly become harder to see. Changes are not very welcome but are also secretly sought for just as much.

Gone, the shallow keep moving, the deep are destroyed from within, the young wither and age their heart, the bonded build walls higher than they have built before.

Price, heavy; cost, dear.

Sweetness, it overflows and radiates, making the partner more attractive and loveable, irking your friends to an extent and seems endless.

Maturity, it develops and grows, a tacit understanding with a deeper awareness, doubts form, ideas grow, thoughts and habits develop around the image painted in their heart.

Ignorance, changes follow, new things discovered, more problems arise, a rift is formed, bridges are built and destroyed, secrets are kept.

Change, the sweetness has faded, everything feels like a painful memory, the doubts arise, the arguments happen, the image of a happy life crumble and despair takes root.

Parting, the world feel emptier, life keeps going on, lonely feels lonelier, time passes by slowly.

Flashback, memories come flooding in, a longing develops, a depravity grows, tears flow, the heart wavers.

Price, heavy; cost, dear.

Price, heavy...

Cost, dear...

Heart, broke...
