Prologue
Rolling clouds drift silently over the ocean, its waves crashing against the rocks below making them slick and slippery. An unfamiliar cry sounds from behind me as a body lunges off the edge of the cliff, falling weightlessly. The sense of dread that inks into my stomach like sludge as the wet crack of bones and the splat of blood echo off the walls of the cliff and into the seemingly endless sea. Reality had warped, the world had turned upside down. Life has lost all meaning. He really did it. He killed himself. It got to him and it could come after any one of us next.
