Chapter| 1. The First Conversation

Kiara’s Pov

I had just joined a new school—and honestly, I was happy. The atmosphere felt different, lighter. A few familiar faces from my old school were already here, like Sara.

I had heard a lot about her—how sweet and popular she was. Eventually, I found myself part of a small friend group that felt like home. Within weeks, they became my best friends.

Then July arrived, and with it, something unexpected.

One day, I received a message from an old junior of mine.

> “Didi, Evaan is my boyfriend. He studies in your school now, in Class 9A. I just wanted to ask if you could check if he has a new girlfriend or crush? I’m a little worried.”

I blinked at the message, surprised. I was in 9B, so I didn’t know Evaan personally. Still, I was curious. I casually asked a few friends from his section if they knew anything.

Turns out, there was a girl named Adrika, and apparently, she was close to Evaan—maybe even his girlfriend.

But then… a message popped up on my phone.

Evaan: “Hiii Kaira..”

Kaira: “Hii Evaan.”

Evaan: “What’s your problem? What did you tell my girlfriend, hmm? I don’t have any other girlfriend in this school, okay? Don’t spread rumours.”

I was taken aback. His tone was harsh, but I kept my calm.

Kaira: “Sorry, Evaan. I don’t even know you personally. I only told her what I heard from your classmates. I didn’t mean to spread anything... really sorry.”

There was a pause.

Evaan: “Haha... it’s okay. You’re new, right? Let’s be friends.”

Kaira: “Okie okie…”

And just like that, from a misunderstanding… began a friendship neither of us had expected
