PRESENTATION
On this long night, dear audience, I invite you to drift through a world of fantasy, subtly submerged within reality—reality that slips, ethereal, through our fingers. Tonight, I ask you to let go of those mortal ties that bitterly bind you to the edges of routine and monotony. Come closer, just a little more. Don’t be afraid, madam, I assure you that fire, more than danger, means warmth—and tonight, on a cold evening, it is truly the best companion.
Ladies and gentlemen, tonight we will explore those vague tales of simple narration and kindly understood words. Rumor has it that nowadays everything is fast and fleeting, our attention scattered, and our frustration easily provoked. Kind viewer with tired eyes, soothe the misery of your liquid existence with my words; redeem that weary adult gaze with the wonder of distant worlds and unimaginable creatures—stories as fluid, empty, and forgettable as any other.
Do not seek an answer. Do not seek a lesson. Do not delve into the morality or ethics of what is to come. Simply let yourself be carried away by the slowly hypnotic rhythm of the crackling fire that strokes us with its warmth.
Ladies and gentlemen, pleased to meet you. I am the narrator.
Do not be afraid. I know my worn and shabby appearance might inspire such a reaction, but above all, I am nothing more than a storyteller—a vulgar spinner of cheap tales, of senseless babble—eager to entertain those tired minds who wish to let themselves out to play for a while. Ladies and gentlemen, please allow me a warning: my stories are easy to follow and easy to grasp—at least that’s what they usually say—but be advised, they are never suited for the little ones who still eat dirt for fun, nor for those in-between who claim to be mature though their bodies have yet to catch up.
So, if your expectation is family-friendly, I’m sorry to disappoint, but this is not your space.
Please proceed to the nearest playroom, or kindly invite that rebellious teenager—who insists on staying for the thrill of all things adult—to take his hand out of his pants, reflect on who he is and who he wishes to become, and let everything arrive in its due time.
In the crowd, a soft wave of movement could be felt, pulling away; the group was now certainly smaller.
The man, with a wrinkled and mischievous gaze, continued his rambling.
With nothing more to say, I begin my tale.
