The Glitch : Sam Paradox
Prologue: The Memory He Shouldn’t Have Changed
Some memories refuse to fade.
For Sam Rayn, it was the one moment that haunted him: the accident that took his sister’s life.
Until the day he found the time machine buried in his grandfather’s garage.
He had the chance to rewrite the past.
But rewriting the past rewrote everything else.
Chapter 1: The Rewrite
The machine worked.
Sam returned to the moment of the accident. This time, he pushed her away. She lived.
But when he came back to the present…
Everything was wrong.
His house looked the same — but the calendar wasn’t. His school was gone. His street had different names.
And no one remembered him.
Then the machine began to spark — and with a final glitch, vanished completely.
Only one number remained on the cracked screen: 1697.
Chapter 2: The Fall into Time
A sudden beam of light dragged Sam into a swirling vortex.
Wind screamed past his ears as the 21st century melted away.
He hit the ground hard — in a forest of towering trees, no phone signal, no signs of life… except a poster nailed to a tree:
> “WANTED: THE TIME WITCH — REWARD: 100 GOLD COINS”
Sam wasn’t alone. But he was already being hunted.
Chapter 3: The Boy in the Forest
As guards with torches drew closer, a figure tackled him into the bushes.
“I’m Elias,” the boy said, offering a wooden sword.
“You’re the one from the legend, right? The boy who fell from the stars?”
Sam didn’t understand. “I’m just trying to fix the present.”
Elias raised an eyebrow. “Then you’ll need more than that machine.”
Chapter 4: The Village That Doesn’t Exist
Elias led Sam to a fog-covered village hidden behind a waterfall. Its people lived off the grid — simple clothes, no metal, no fire — but at the heart of the village stood a hut made from strange gears and stone.
Inside were blueprints. Ancient runes. And a half-finished machine.
A journal sat open on the table.
The name “SAM RAYN” was written in bold ink — dated 73 years before he was born.
Chapter 5: The Machine Maker
The hut belonged to Elias’s guardian — Marwyn, an inventor who vanished years ago after claiming “Time is broken.”
Sam believed this was no coincidence. Marwyn might have seen the glitch coming — and started building a second time machine.
“Help me finish it,” Sam said.
But Elias hesitated.
“Finishing it could destroy time completely.”
Chapter 6: The Time Witch
Sam and Elias snuck into a forbidden cave where rumors said Marwyn had last been seen.
Instead, they found her.
A mysterious woman cloaked in green shadows, with glowing blue eyes. She called herself Lyra — the “Time Witch.”
“I came from the future,” she told them. “Same as you, Sam.”
But her machine was different. Sleek. Dangerous.
“You changed the past,” she whispered. “Now time is fighting back.”
Chapter 7: The Scroll of Glitches
Lyra gave Sam a scroll — ancient but shimmering like it was written by lasers. It listed names, dates, and events that should not have happened.
Sam’s name was on it.
So was Elias’s.
“This is the Paradox Scroll,” Lyra said. “It predicts every glitch that will collapse time.”
And at the bottom:
“World Ends — In 6 Days.”
Chapter 8: Infiltration
They needed parts for the machine. But the only place to find rare materials was in the king’s fortress — guarded by knights who feared magic.
Sam and Elias disguised themselves as servants.
Inside, they discovered more than metal. They found a mirror that showed possible futures.
And one future showed Sam becoming the villain.
Chapter 9: A Hole in the Sky
While escaping the fortress, they looked up.
The sky tore open — a glowing crack between centuries. A “Time Rift.”
And something came through.
A flying drone from the future — scanning the land, erasing memories of people it touched.
Time had opened the gate.
The future was leaking into the past.
Chapter 10: The Army of Echoes
In a ruined city Elias had never seen before, they found people frozen mid-step — echoes from other timelines.
Lyra reappeared.
“This is the work of the Chrono Order,” she warned. “A secret group trying to control time.”
“They planted the time machine in your grandfather’s garage.”
“They wanted you to change the past.”
Chapter 11: The Timeline Hunter
A mysterious masked figure begins chasing Sam. Always just behind. Never speaking.
They call him The Hunter.
He appears whenever Sam tries to fix the timeline. His job? Kill anyone who causes glitches.
And he’s hunting Elias too.
But Elias had never even traveled through time…
Or had he?
Chapter 12: Elias’s Secret
In a hidden letter from Marwyn, the truth is revealed.
Elias isn’t from the 17th century.
He was born in the year 2301 — sent back as a baby to protect him from the Chrono Order.
That’s why he knows the future.
That’s why he feels the glitches.
“I’m not just your friend,” Elias said. “I’m your backup plan.”
Chapter 13: The Broken Machine
With Elias’s help, Sam rebuilds the core of the time machine — but something is missing.
It needs a piece of memory — a pure moment from the past to stabilize it.
Sam remembers the day he found the machine. He records it in a crystal.
As the machine powers on… the Hunter attacks.
Chapter 14: Battle for the Timeline
A final fight erupts at the edge of the Time Rift.
Lyra holds the machine. Elias fights the Hunter. Sam activates the core.
Every version of Sam — from other timelines — appear for an instant. Some older. Some evil.
“Make the right choice,” one whispers.
Sam faces two buttons:
Reset time completely
Fix only what he broke
He chooses the second.
Chapter 15: Paradox Repaired
The machine bursts with light. The rift begins to close.
Sam wakes up… back in his garage.
His sister is alive.
Elias is beside him — wearing 21st-century clothes.
And the world is almost normal…
Except for a blinking message on the machine’s screen:
“NEXT PARADOX DETECTED – YEAR: 3039”
The End?
