Well written book One

"Very well written, you have created a complex, internally consistent world. There are a few little mechanical errors that can be fixed in editing. The book was long and I felt there was too much space devoted to the Pentad's training, and the training episodes all tended toward the same pattern- they were introduced to a new skill, and all five quickly mastered it each time with Hawk always being the best, quickest, etc. I did not like Hawk, he never seemed to have to try, he just always knew the right answer, always was so perfect I didn't feel his humanity or connect with him very well. There was some nice foreshadowing, and a solid story arc leading to the next book. Overall, a very good story."

Great world building

"The world that you created was nicely developed with interesting characters, though I did find Hawk a bit bland compared to the other characters of the Pentad, I think it was because he seemed flawless in almost everything while the other kids had flaws but that's what made them more rounded. Nonetheless I enjoyed their interactions with each other and how they grew as a team. My main issue is that I thought the pacing of the first several chapters with all the training and getting the kids together was really slow and got repetitive at times, The Pentad don't get to Injhihato until much later and I think it could've happened earlier 'cause that's when we really get the plot going, but that might just be me. The story was really interesting regardless and I liked the lead up to the next book."

Emerging - Dream?

"Being written in the present tense this story puts the reader in the heart of a night mare of carnage, rape and pillage, paedophillia, blood and gore and domestic violence. More of a nightmare than a dream and you are there. If you can handle that take pleasure from this well presented and well written work that scores highly on the ‘tales of fantasy’ charts. It is difficult for me to determine at what point in time this dream emerges, or where even, but the lack of technology and geographical information suggest somewhere before Christ who never gets a mention. None the less this is a spirited work that demands a dedicated set of followers who find satisfaction in pages of conflict and bloodletting. The Hawk, Fox and Pork clan immediately brought to mind an image of Garth, a character of the fifties, but he was well before most people’s time. Me, I’ll stick to my music and New Zealand crime stories, but I owed it to the author to give an opinion. Good luck with this one. I hope he will find his market and get his due rewards."

Very Creative and Interesting

"The author does an excellent job creating their own world, including their own language. I'm very impressed with the imagination used, it reminds me of George R R Martin, J K Rowling and J R Tolkien creating their own complete worlds. The plot is very interesting and kept me engaged and interested the entire time! The prologue was a little long and sometimes hard to follow switching between characters so often in the middle. The grammar needs a little bit of fine tuning."

The Emerging Part I: Dream

"The basic plot of this story is a good one, though I found the play by play fight descriptions, repeated chapter after chapter quite tedious, Some of the chapters seemed to drag with more and more fight descriptions. All in all I would like to read more of this story just to see if I am right about where Hawk, Fox, Desert, Boar and Santhemum all fit in the Rniti family."
