Retribution
In a different timeline where their father Isuke, their mother Ember, and their crew died, and the twin teenagers Luna and Freya are off to get revenge but they don't see eye to eye. the story is about their revenge, and temporary redemption. Luna didn't do anything for years, she only cried and quoted her favorite song "Red Like Roses Part 2" because she can now relate to it about her father.
Freya on the other hand sought out everything she can to get revenge against their killers. Normally they'd be best friends and did everything together, except in this timeline. After losing everyone they knew, loved, and cared about they fell apart fast and the last time they argued in the living room which isn't far from the entrance to the cabin they lived in, Freya told Luna "Don't you DARE speak of our parents like that!" Luna said that if they weren't so weak, they wouldn't have died. She was speaking of herself and Freya, Freya being insanely angry and having their parents tempers and anger mixed together doesn't help her much.
After that, Luna went to leave and Freya said, "you exit this cabin, don't come back. you will no longer be my sister, and the next time we meet we will be enemies" Luna turned with hurtful eyes, tears swelling. Freya stood there, angry. if this were to be a cartoon, her head would be a old time train whistle blowing as hard as it can, is how angry she is. Luna looked at her necklace then unclipped it and walked to the living room coffee table and set it down then she walked out of the cabins entrance, not turning back.
fast forward to 5 years later, they finally made a break in their separate search for their parents' killers, we'll be taking a look at Lunas side of things first for the first chapter.
Luna would be seen staring at a pinboard of all the people who has hated her dad enough to actually get close to killing him, she says "can't bear another day without you in it, dad. To have you in my life is all I ever want now. I wasn't dreaming when they told me you were gone." She then looks around the board and it clicks. It's someone she never seen as an enemy until as of lately. It was someone she once trusted dearly, once was someone she thought she could rely on.
She grabs her coat and her dad's katana that she inherited after his death, since she was the one who mastered hand-to-hand combat between her and her sister. she then rushed out an open window of her hideout that is rooftop height to other rooftops, this is a futuristic cyberpunk town that is more of a steampunk type of town. each rooftop was like a normal building at the top of the roofs, but the rest was all futuristic, think Cyberpunk but less hologram-y.
She rushed from rooftop to rooftop, parkouring around as she looked in between each person from a crowded little town then there he is. She spots him quickly since she knew the stupid blue hat he always wore. it was a blue hat with a penguin on it, the penguin has a "quack" worded by it. He always found the hat to be hilarious, but with Lunas deadpan personality she never once found it funny.
she does spot him, hanging out with people he told her that he hated and told her they were his High-school bullies, it was her ex boyfriend. In this timeline, she was into boys rather than girls and she isn't close with her twin sister Freya as stated in the beginning of this chapter.
Everything is quiet, people walking back and forth, everyone either on their phone or holographic tablets doing either a zoom type of meeting, talking on their devices to friends, family, coworkers, etc. everyone minding their own business. Luna spots an opening and she leaps off the rooftops then a loud crash is heard. The crash would be her landing on a car. A normal human wouldn't have survived this, but she isn't a normal human. She stayed within the shadows known as a "Nightmaric" she's part of a dying race, one of the last of her kind. Nobody knows who or what that race is, but their anger is something you wouldn't want to face.
she rushes at her ex-boyfriend, growling with fierce pissed off glares that would even make the strongest of people shiver in fear, people run in fear seeing her dash with a katana at her hilt, not wanting any part of the anger they can all visibly see as she slices at him after getting close. One of his friends steps in the way stupidly to try calming her down by holding her down to stop her, but he gets dropped easily via beheading after she screams "MOVE" but he doesn't so he got beheaded as a result of that.
The blood sprays everywhere, even on her but that doesn't slow her since she has a mask over her face which is revealed after her hood on her hoodie fell that she tried to keep on to keep her identity completely concealed. how would anyone see the anger? you'll see one this hunt ends. She continues chasing and killing anyone in her way that was called upon by the cowardice ex-boyfriend who knew what he got into after killing her father.
Nothing can stop this rage now, not even the police can stop her who has no idea where to look since they moved to the alleyways. He runs into a large building via the entrance. instead of waiting for a elevator since she was close enough to fire an energy ball, but she wanted to get close and feel his life slip away. he ran up stairs, doing all he can to avoid her blade, which wasn't an easy thing for him to do.
They eventually end up atop of a skyscraper and barely escaping her slices. They end up on a helipad then he engages in hand-to-hand combat, foolishly since he escaped death once already.
They continuously fight atop on the skyscrapers helipad, he dodges a quick overhead slice at his head from Luna by quickly ducking down, somehow she did miss that but her momentum sends her forward. he uses a wrist blade he stole from a blacksmith since he was one of those "bad boys" and that made her fall for him since she was in her rebellious phase.
after she misses the overhead slice she foolishly did, he sees an opportunity then he does a spin move, slicing at her head from behind, she quickly flashes forward in a bright flash step. she pants heavily from the marathon they ran, he has a worried look, he knows he isn't getting out of this alive
he goes to speak but her body flickers then she appears, slicing at him at a mid slice, he blocks but she sidesteps towards him, her back to him and elbows him in the jaw. she's 5'3" and he's 5'5" so she elbowed upwards and hitting him in the jaw.
he goes to put her in a headlock but her body flickers again, the she appears behind him, spin kicking him in the back, forcing him forward, she appears again facing him, she then backflip kicking him slightly into the air, but enough to leap forward, her death glare glowing red. her energy leaves streaks each time she flickered, she moved forward, slicing him one then flickered again, her body moving forward but into the air. each flicker moved forward, diagonal, and horizontal.
this gives Luna an advantage since he cannot keep up due to him being a mere human fighting against something supernatural. she stops flickering and flash stepping around and simply stands a good 10 feet away from him.
he barely makes it to his feet, Luna's shocked he isn't dead nor had he given up yet. Luna takes up Isukes, whom is her father, sword ready stance, which has her leaned back with her left foot behind her and her right foot infront of her. her right leg extended out with her left knee bent, her katanas handle next to her head, both hands on the katana as she studies what to do next.
He sees Luna distracted on her own thoughts, which he knew to be her weakness...5 years ago that is. He quickly switches his wrist blade attachment into a hand cannon, which is illegal to have.
He fires the beam as Luna ran at full speed. She sees the beam and her eyes goes wide as she leapt in the air to avoid the beam. She does a few open legged corkscrew spins. The open legged spins to throw her weight around and glide across the beam with her fathers katana that she wields as her own.
she glided and flew across the beam, then once she got close enough she kicked herself up with a burst beam from her free hand. after reaching close enough, she stabs him into and through his chest. The stab pinned him to the ground. she forcefully pushed him down to the ground and pulls the katanas blade out of his body.
He goes on a speech about how she wasn't the only one who needed him but unbeknownst to him that isn't what this is about. She just has had enough of his senseless blabbering and snaps. She roars as loud as she can, which is pretty loud.
Her aura shooting high. High enough to split then form stormclouds which makes it storm. She then forms the aura into an energy ball that formed in her palm then imbues it into her blade then she grips her katana tightly. She then gets into the same stance as before, she grunts and roars, slicing through his invisible armor that he secretly put up during his his monologue he tried tricking her with but she knew he'd resort to this tactic.
this tactic is the tactic that had killed her father after all. The sword slices clean through his invisible armor that is used by bank robbers who have a good contact to give them stuff for those very activities. invisible to the naked eye, but Luna knowing how much of a coward this guy is, she knew he'd try that and it would shatter the blade and leave her wide open.
the katana blade with destructive energy slices through the armor cleanly, sliding from the right shoulder down to the left hip. once she sees him fall in two different places falling limp, she looks off to the distance sky, looking towards a bar, after hearing a familiar motorcycle.
she looks off to the distant sky then her body flickers and disappears after the cops arrive to a horrific scene of a teenage body sliced in two.
