Chapter 1: The Start
You blink. You look around and see yourself surrounded by trees. You get up from lying on the ground. In the dim light from the last rays of the setting sun, you find that you’re in a forest.
Glancing up at the sky which is turning into a bruised violet, you’re hit with a sense of panic. You’re lost. How did you even end up here? You don’t know who you are. You search your brain for memories, but it feels like looking at a void. Your head rings for a moment, and you bring up a hand to your forehead to steady yourself, but pause abruptly when it comes back sticky and slick with both dry and wet blood. Your breathing starts getting erratic.
You pause a moment, trying to recollect yourself. Taking a shaky breath, you look around you, and realise you’re in a small clearing. The trees are thick with foliage, and you can hardly see past them in the fading light. You look down and see that there’s a small and barely visible worn-out path leading into a stretch of trees that seem less dense than the others. The path starts from where you’re standing and just grows out into the gloom. Should you follow it? You look around again. Maybe the trees aren’t as thick as you thought. Should you go through them?
You find that you’re faced with two options. You can either:
a) Look around for other exits. (Go to chapter 2.)
b) Or follow the path and see where it leads you. (Go to chapter 3.)
